You can read into the first comment under that post.
I was referring to another name drop actually.

Yeah just saw that one as well.I was referring to another name drop actually.
Not arguing here Ram as I am interested in having meaningful discussions, but.....Also now that we are settled again with our Stadium if we did think outside the box and did something as bold as make Cronk the coach, I would make sure that I would also hire the best possible support staff available to support him. And also bring in people like Peter Mullholland, Matthew Johns, Michael Ennis, Hayden Knowles as examples of just a few candidates.
I'm not against your ideas per se but just because Cronk is a good player, doesn't mean he'd be a good coach. There are plenty of examples proving so, and very few examples showing it can happen. Again not against him becoming a coach (I strongly suspect it isn't on his radar though) but we all know who'd be 1st to berate the club for hiring a rookie coach when he didn't work out. And if you think he wasn't signed up to some sort of media deal well before leaving Melbourne, you're dreaming.Just wanted to put two things out there before the season started in a few hours.
One, for the life of me I don't get why Seibold hasn't moved Heaven and Earth to prize Chad Townsend from the Sharks. Sure it wouldn't be easy, but I don't think that it would be all that hard either considering the circumstances the Sharks are in and they have Johnson and Moylan to fall back on.
He for mine is their missing piece for the Premiership. What a team they otherwise have. WOW! Premiership favourites if they had Townsend.
And two, I think when we sack BA we should go hard for Cooper Cronk as coach or at least co-coach with Mick Potter while he is learning the roll. A dual first grade coaching roll like the Raiders did all those years ago with Ferner and Bennett.
I think Cooper has the makings of an exceptional coach. He is the sort of person that leaves no stone unturned and a very smart and inquiring mind. Look at the way he turned himself into the QLD and Australian halfback from nothing initially other then his will and determination.
He has the utmost respect amongst all the NRL players and wider community and he is a great communicator. All things that make for a great coach. I think we should act first though. If we don't and the Roosters or another team hook him in then it may be almost impossible for us to bring him to us.
Also now that we are settled again with our Stadium if we did think outside the box and did something as bold as make Cronk the coach, I would make sure that I would also hire the best possible support staff available to support him. Most of these types seem to have avoided us for far to long. We have to sign a head coach that anyone and everyone would be eager to work with. I believe Cooper is this type of man. Sure, will he be ready straight up? Probably not, that's why I would have him do the first two seasons with Potter equally by his side to help with the workload and some of the pressures that will invariably present over his early learning period. But I believe he would be more then worth it.
He if successful, and I think the odds are very, very good that he would be, would be a massive lure for recruiting players too. We need to change the way we have been doing things, I think this is a great first step in that process.
But we need to do it before he gets sucked in to the easy world and lifestyle of Television which will undoubtedly try hard to seduce him. I would court him like a young nubile virgin on a third date. Make him believe in us and what we have to offer.
Just my thoughts cos I'm an ideas man.

Peter Mulholland has been here before hasn't he?
What evidence is there that M Johns is up there with the best support staff
Michael Ennis said no already. He is also not renowned as a superior support staff being only just retired. He may turn out that way, but he's not yet.
Knowles was also previously employed by the club.
Without a ball having been kicked, how do we know that the likes of Miguel Jiminez the former Storm trainer, hasn't done wonders for the team since coming in. Mick Potter may show his influence once the team is on the field too. I don't disagree with the fact that BA is rightly under pressure, but we reviewed made some changes, have brought in a couple of players to fill gaps and promoted some outstanding juniors. IMO, we need to give this a chance.
I also wouldn't be against Kevvie as our 1st grade coach. I do think that BA will hang on longer than we all think though, and that Potter will replace him if he goes.I also think that you could not pry Cooper Cronk away from TV world with $1m. He and his TV Mrs have bought a keeper house in Mosman and I am sure between them they will be on good coin.
I see Cooper taking over Kevvie for Origin maybe (when Kevvie gets that NRL gig).
Speaking of Kevvie, I know that Holbrook has been mentioned as a possible replacement for BA, but it came out last week that Kevvie knocked back a 3 year deal at the WTigers on the promise that he'd get the Broncos gig. I would like Kevvie at the Eels, if BA is not extended.
It’s easier and more stable work.Maybe Cronk doesn’t want to be a coach.
If he’s smart he’d avoid it like the plague and get himself a cushy media job when he retires. Either Fox Sports or Channel 9 would have take him on board in a second.
It really was a minor incident, and coming onto a flight attendant, if they were the words spoken, was not offensive in itself. That she probably told him to piss off and he did certainly doesn't compound anything. He should have been fined AND allowed to play, all this has done is penalise the team. I mean other club's players have done worse and copped very minor fines in comparison. For some reason we seem to over compensate by making the punishment harsh.A slap on the wrist isn't the only alternative to sacking him. And what message does it send to the playing group if they sack one of their mates for an incident that doesn't deserve it? It wouldn't engender loyalty in them. We had a review because we were losing, not for any excessive amount of player incidents. We've already sacked Edwards and shipped off Norman. I don't think we're in real need to "send a message" to the playing group. Just let them know what's expected of them and deal with any incident on its merits.
It’s easier and more stable work.
100% like hearding cats.Imagine the stress of being a FG coach. You have to rely on a bunch of moron footy players to do well in order to keep your job.
And have the media and fans decide how you’re performing.Imagine the stress of being a FG coach. You have to rely on a bunch of moron footy players to do well in order to keep your job.
I believe he has to pass some coaching course first and be registered as a coach before can actually coach. Left field thought which has some merit.Just wanted to put two things out there before the season started in a few hours.

Just stating the reality. If Cronk was going to be the next big thing in coaching he would go to a stable club with more to offer than just the biggest whinging supporter base in Sydney.
