Definitely a better defender 10 kgs lighter and no discernible difference to his attack at the higher weight. Hes still making tackles but his slowness off the ground is severly impacting the following tackle. Sadly others are similar, Tepai to name just one.
Maybe the coaching staff are pushing him to maintain the weight and if his impact dosent improve they will set him free. It looks like the club has reduced interest in a lean Alvaro.

Strange if true... He has openly admitted that he wants to play fullback. Our captain who just re-signed also openly says he wants to play fullback...you'd think one of them is going to be playing a position they don't really want to.... and my guess is it will be DWZ

Nice. He's certainly an upgrade to Taka.

Not sure why Fergo was selected at centre, but clearly we have zero depth there. Mennings and DWZ are a pretty decent pair to have outside Marata and Lane. Add Moses and DBrown and that's pretty exciting.

Also this must spell the end of Bevan. DWZ is the fullback should Gutho snap something.

DWZ is a massive upgrade on Taka, and he has shown for NZ he can be very good. So he’s an upgrade at the right price.

Won’t stop BA picking his son Taka in the 17 but.

Upon the return of Tepai, NBrown, Oregan being more experienced and possibly Stefano Alphabet getting a start and even Ray Stone being available, he will be way down the pecking order.
