So take Guth our of his best spot and Fergo out of his best spot. Umm ok.
Semi was great but come with his problems. Held us ransom for more money and shooting off to Fiji. If we did sign Semi I would be tempted to let MJ go and Parrys takes up a cheap role in the 17. Sivo could be first drop. There are always injuries.
Having Parry in side would bring balance to cap in the back 5.
I'm not 100% convinced fullback is Gutho's best position... That's just me though

The best option I reckon is:

1. Gutho
2. Semi
3. Jennings
4. Blake
5. Ferguson

Sivo is a good player, but probably the “worse” out of the bunch.
He is, but Jennings isn’t contracted next year and won’t play for a pie and coke. Sivo is better than Parry, on peanuts and contracted next year. As far as value under the cap goes, Gutho, Semi, Sivo, Blake and Fergo represents the best value for the back 5 I reckon (not necessarily in the positions I listed them as)

This bloke on twitter who appears on 2SM sometimes acts like he’s a bit of an authority on everything.

If Tommy Alphabet is worth $1m, then Semi is worth $1m. Don’t underestimate the significance of what Semi can do for a side, merkin.

Yeah people just dont get that wingers do a lot more than centres these days. The main things centres do is get in the road of wingers getting the ball.

Trbojevich has much higher involvement, especially off the ball. That's worth money. Radradra doesn't have the work rate.

Obviously depends on how much Jennings wants.

Considering who we have in the squad now (eg how many backs we have), there is probably room for Jennings to stay, Semi coming (obviously all subject to price / cap management) and Parry to move into the top 30:

Mennings stays
Parry replaces Hoffman (provides wing/centre cover)
Semi replaces GL (obviously not in price, but Sivo becomes the cheapie )
Salmon replaces Taka ( both provide cover for a few spots).
Gennings stays

Leading try scorer in the NRL, not too shabby for a rookie. Sure he has some mistakes in him but worth persisting with. Bargain signing as well.

Of course, not doubting his playing ability and still has improvement. But isn’t in the same class as Ferguson / semi as wingers

Also don’t think we should be trying to turn a winger into a centre. So Sivo is the one to miss out, but gee he wouId be a great back up and would still getting plenty of game time.

I reckon it all comes down to the balance of the spine. With 2 solid play makers in Brown / Moses, we don’t a need a “play making” fullback, however gutho is improving in that area and getting better. Also he works hard and support is vey good. But probably does hog the ball occasionally.

He is costing what 650k? If he moved to centre then we are paying massive overs. He hasn't the speed or x factor to be a centre worth that kind of coin.
Did I say he should play in the centres?? The merkin played dummy half for us V the Storms... I say it was too small a sample size to judge him on... Get it done BA....

Seriously though, if he doesn't have the speed or x factor for centre, does he have it for fullback??

Interestingly, in Sivo’s debut year his stats stack up pretty well with Semi’s last year with us in 2017. Obviously he doesn’t have the pure game breaking moments Semi did, but overall it’s a pretty good comparison. Keep in mind Semi was known to have some defensive brain farts at times as well.

Sivo:
16 games
13 tries
55 tackle breaks
82.6% tackle efficiency
141 average running metres

Semi:
26 games
22 tries
88 tackle breaks
149 average running metres

I think people underestimate just how good Sivo is going for his rookie year.
