What mystery second rower? I thought it was Friz and now that seems to be off.
Any idea when we are supposed to find out in way of an announcement etc?
In my numbers we have not replaced Mau OR Teps.
Plus we need to replace Hoffman who I thought had a terrific game for Wenty. We defs need a versatile backline cover. I like Parry but he seems still a way off.

I see @hindy111 likes this comment, yet he constantly calls for juniors to fill out squad spots

Parry is a fine enough swap for Hoffman at probably half the price

100% but some people just like to whine.

Parry is a big body with potential upside on fringe money. I bet we went out and signed a Lachlan Marata or a Tyrone Phillips or someone else in that price range and let Parry go they'd whine too

Tyrone Phillips looked better.

He was hyped up 12mths ago to the point people wanted to pick him in the NRL.
After watching him play I am of the opinion he is another overhyped junior in the Nathan Davis mould. I might be wrong and hope I am.
But I have a extremely good eye for spotting talent. I don't see a lot of potential in Parry.

BA would not of given MJ 2yrs and gone and signed Blake if he thought Parry had potential to be a regular. Like I said, plenty called for him to be in the side over MJ. He isn't anywhere near his brothers class let alone mjs....

While Parry didn’t do anything great yesterday, he was playing centre so was probably limited in his ability to get a lot of run metres in the early tackles (especially with GL there, the other winger and an nrl experienced player in Gennings).

However in his 72 metres, 33 was from PCM, which is the best % of any of the backs and maybe a reason the club rate him.
It’s his defence that is crap, not his attack.

There was a reason the Jets concentrated their attack on our right, GL and Parry have issues . Dunster came on for GL, and nothing improved. They really need to step up a fair bit to make NRL other than aback up.

In 2020 I’d say Taka is our next choice winger / centre in case of injury. The lowly duo of Gennings and Parry would come after him.
*assuming we buy an edge forward to replace Mau

What the f**k are you on about?
He’s replacing Hoffman FFS! Were “plenty” calling for Hoffman to be in side over Mennings? He had a good brief stint and then fell off a cliff. Parry doesn’t have to be a regular FFS. BA isn’t expecting him to be a regular. Anyone with half a brain isn’t expecting him to be a regular.
All we need him to do (and as you say probably after Gennings) is replace those handful of ok fill in games. But more importantly he’s going to be cheaper, meaning we can spend more on actual regulars

No no no everyone is calling for Parry to be starting every week. Like Hoffman was

Parry’s tackle success rate in the NRL is 90% (18 from 20).

But he did have a poor attempt on Parker in his first game which lead to a try, however Parker has done that few times to more experienced players and is bigger then he looks.

Anyhow he has potential and probably like a lot of players, may go better then expected when surrounded by NRL players ....,

I reckon Salmon is next after Taka (assuming Taka stays) for the centre spot. And Parry after Taka for the wing spot.

I think it’ll be Gennings (hopefully the 2018 version) before Parry
And who knows where Salmon fits in

Honestly I'd offer Salmon as part of a trade deal to get a gun back rower*.

* Provided we re-sign Dylan prior to 1 Nov 2019.

Yes it might come back to bite us, but I'm just not feeling that he's got the X factor and determination to be a really good NRL player.

I think he could be an ok edge player (or a fullback perhaps?) but I think he showed yesterday, he’s not really a playmaker

Bit of a jack of all trades, master of none ATM

He's listed as 6'2 and 96kgs.

Marata is 6'2 and 104kgs.

I guess that's not too far off considering his age.

EDIT: Matterson is 6'4 and 107kgs

He’s actually not too dissimilar to Gutho When he came into grade. Didn’t set the world on fire but had a good footy brain.
