I suppose you’re right. I mean Latrell helped Rorters attack score more than 2 tries this year right?

In big games you need big name players. A game breaker. Latrells flick pass won them the grand final. Sure it may of been just one thing but remember JL had an easier chance to execute and win the game for Canberra. He fluffed it.
Rooster take the title.

Latrell might be a talented player but he has a shit attitude and goes missing in games. Last time we had one of those it didn't end well.

Boosted by plenty of blow outs
We had games where we blew the ass end out of teams. 50 point wins.
Canberra have not the team to score blow outs but still had 6 games where scored 2 tries. And 2 of then in the finals. They managed to win 3 of those.
Could say 7 vs 4 games that held to two tries in regular season. Yet we scored more tries.

Canberra scored 9 less points than us.

We scored more than 50 once and 30 or more 6 times.

Canberra scored 30 or more 5 times.

The difference between us and Canberra is defence they let in 99 less points.

Our attack is fine it’s our defence that needs fixing.

Yes. He understand this. He also understands smarter teams will know we can only score of kicks so defend better against it.
If they're defending better against the kick it opens them up elsewhere. And most of our tries weren't from kicks.

I'd say the reason we scored so many from kicks was because the way to beat us in 2016-2018 was to get up quickly out wide, because shifting the ball was the only way we knew how to attack prior to this year. So we adjusted to that by kicking more.

Someone said our attacks fine.
If you accept that 1/3 of time it isn't good enough and happy with that then great. We also lost games when scored more then 2 tries but the point is 3 tries will win you a lot of games. 2 won't.
Two tries are good enough if your defence is good enough.

A lot of the time attack comes down to making the right decision at the right, making the right pass, the correctly weighted kick etc etc I suspect fatigue affects this process/decision making a lot more then tackling.

Defence is normally about getting your body in front of the attacker / it’s all about effort. It doesn’t normally involve split sec decisions like attack does,

Every facet of playing league is about making the right decisions. Attack or defence. But you can’t tell me we didn’t score because we lacked ball and were fatigued and then go on to say but we done well defending and stopped them from blowing the score out.

So do we need to focus on improving defence or attack?

Moses kicking game was unreal this year too, not once did he concede a 20 metre restart from his general play kicking

It's really f**king simple, regular season we scored the third most points only being beaten by the Storm and the Roosters. Yet we conceded the seventh least points in defence.

Our attack was top four, our defence was top eight, and only by a few points ( had we conceded one more converted try we would have been outta the top eight ), fix our defence without dropping off our attack and we are a top four squad.
