In big games you need big name players. A game breaker. Latrells flick pass won them the grand final. Sure it may of been just one thing but remember JL had an easier chance to execute and win the game for Canberra. He fluffed it.
Rooster take the title.
Would have made more sense if you said Canbra’s inability to score 3 tries was why they lost

It's really f**king simple, regular season we scored the third most points only being beaten by the Storm and the Roosters. Yet we conceded the seventh least points in defence.

Our attack was top four, our defence was top eight, and only by a few points ( had we conceded one more converted try we would have been outta the top eight ), fix our defence without dropping off our attack and we are a top four squad.

It’s easy to say we were top 3, but there’s other factors that must also be considered. Such as ease of draw opposed to other teams.

Please don’t resort to poo’s Way of thinking. Was only raising a point about our attack. This is a forum isn’t it, where I’m entitled to an opinion?
I wasn't meaning to offend mate, but do you seriously consider that kicks are not an effective and planned part of a teams attack?

Sure the good teams have a variety of weapons and styles of attack, but don't discount the importance of kicks in resulting in tries. We also had one of the largest percentages of long range tries in the comp in 2019. If anything in our attack needs improving it is when we are in the oppositions 20 and sometimes get lost in trying to cross the line - this will improve naturally with both RCG and hopefully Matto being good close to the line.

Except that in comparing how we finished in both attack and defence it's using the same draw. So in regards to that comparison, it's irrelevant.

Read it in the context mate... " this will improve naturally with both RCG and hopefully Matto being good close to the line."

I am hopeful we get Matto - no seal broken.
Nope. You just edited it and put 'hopefully' before Matto.

Where did I say kicks aren’t an important facet of attacking? I basically said we still need to work on it.

Look below what I later said

Agreed. Our go forward isnt an issue, but we seem a little lost with the ball pressing the oppositions try line. With the bulk of our points coming off kicks. YES I UNDERSTAND ITS STILL A FOUR POINTER, but we need variety. Maybe Matterson if signed adds another dimension. The other reason IMO we struggle in attack is the dreaded fourth tackle settler. We friggen do it every set we are pressing the line. I know his numbers are good, and he adds punch to our pack, but Nbrown shits me with his hit ups. He’s a poor man’s gallon.

If the eels played the lower half of the table twice and another top team played the best teams twice, how is there F and A comparable/accurate? And I’m not saying we had an easy draw. Just saying it isn’t very comparable

How do you know whether we wouldn't have kicked less if we played the better teams more often?
