Brock Lamb is a handy pick up.
In 16 games he had 18TA and 13 LBAS and 11 force drop outs.

Davies had15 TAs, 8 Lbas 13 forced drop outs and an extra 4 games played.
Salmon in 13 games had 7 ta and 7 lbas and 2 forced drop out. But 4 of those games at centre.

As far a genuine ball playing skill Lamb is superior.

His biggest weakness is his defence.

Obviously stats aren’t everything and these don’t show “poor decisions”, but for 2016-18, Lambs tackle success wasn’t that terrible, 85%, 87% and 89%.

And it was in a fairly average knights side in addition to his inexperience.

2019 Moses defense was great for a halfback.

Yep, his defence is not his weakness. If pushed to find where he should improve his game, I would say that he does not have a deft passing game where he runs to the line and puts big merkins into holes. Like a Joey Johns or Cooper Cronk.

It certainly wasn’t “great” for a halfback. Don’t get me wrong, he has improved out of sight and I’m stoked he’s our halfback. He is adequate in the defensive line, which is all he needs to be when his attack is so good. However he has a tackle efficiency of 77.5%, which isn’t great, and he averages 4 missed tackles a game. In comparison, his 19 year old halves partner has a tackle efficiency of 84.8% and averages 2.5 missed tackles per game.

Anyone suggesting Moses is a good defensive half is kidding themselves. He is an elite attacking half who can defend at an acceptable nrl level.

85kg up against 110kg is never going result in a great collision impact......
Exactly. But he was great at jumping out of marker to take the legs of the next runner. As a team we just need to be more aware of his ability to do that and time our hammering once the runner is slowed

I reckon some of that can be written off to the below.

If he’s going low, especially as a solo tackler, he’ll be susceptible to falling (but hopefully slowing down runner) or giving up an offload. It doesn’t mean he is a great defender but he’s playing to his strengths while also helping the team. Being an effective tackler isn’t always the best effectiveness for the team
