By Tim Smith’s 3rd year of NRL at only 22, he had already been the half back in an eels side that had made the semi 3 years in a row. Won the minor premiership once and made the GF qualifier twice.

Additionally in that time the eels were knocked out twice by a side that was massively cheating the cap.

He did ok for a half, especially if you consider who his partners in the spine were.....

oh yeah he also had 3 NRL coaches in that time...

He did some sublime things on the footy field in his brief foray in the NRL. To be honest, if you ran a highlights reel, his debut season alone probably goes twice as long as Cronk's career package. But as we know, highlights don't equal premierships, otherwise that Hayne guy would've had 2 or 3 to his name

T.Smith played in a great eels side. This helped.

G.Morrisson,Tahu,Hindmarsh, Pj Marsh, D.Wagon, Riddel, Widders, Moi Moi....

B.Smith,Grothe,Cayless,Vella, McKinnon,Burt where also solid first graders around their peak with plenty of nrl experience....

This insistence that Mahoney should run more reminds me of the time they said that about Tim Smith way back in 2005 when he had the NRL record for most try assists.

Mahoney doesn’t need to do this. We have the best young hooker in the game yet we want to change his style which thus far has proved very effective.
How many runs in a game does Cam Smith make? Not many but makes plenty of good decisions. Reed does the same.

M.Keating ran more then Rheed and was a better defender. He copped it on here.
Rheed is a good little tough player. At the moment that is about all. He needs to improve his running and support game and kick more often. Otherwise in 2yrs he will just be a big average rub of the mill hooker and guys like Kyle may push their case to take his spot.

I actually thought Reeds decision making was pretty poor last night. It’s usually good. He was hitting the wrong man too often. His defence was outstanding but I reckon it was his worse game with the ball.

Oh my. I've seen some shit takes on here....but this...

It's fact....

Rheed is overhyped on here. He needs to add more to his game otherwise will be just a standard hooker with decent service from dummy half.
He is a solid little nrl player who is developing. The question is how much will he improve. I don't see why people mention him for origin at his point.

Do you remember how slow Keatings service was from dummy half? I've smoked spliffs quicker than he could pass from the ruck to his pivot....

I think he is the best passing dummy half the eels have had in my memory and that's making a big difference to this team. A garbage ground passer is lethal to your prospects of winning. They set the tone/standard. A bit like a great wicket keeper does.

Is anyone interesting in hearing my newest great idea for the game (its actually more or a reannouncement of an old idea of mine, but I am increasingly certain it is better than great possibly...it may even be brilliant)?

Every second play the ball Keating would forget that the ball had been played. He’d be looking around at dummy half and then be completely shocked that the ball had been played and was by his feet. Then there was the extraordinary length of time it took him to bend down and pick it up. Finally a pass that was generally above the receivers head. @Bazal either has a huge living room or is a slow painter because I reckon he could have got The kitchen and bedrooms done in that time too.

Keating and Morgs were Kearneys favourite Lads.

Well I had to do primer and two coats.

And it wasn't one of the rucks where he dummied one way, took half a step, stopped, looked the other way and then passed, so I only had so much time...

How warm and fuzzy are things these days? Fergo says "hi" and now Kev says "hi" as well. Wonderful time to be alive.
