I know this will never happen, but I would love for BA to bite the bullet and sack A. Johns.

I think there is evidence to support this

he has worked as a "consultant" for halves from various clubs over the years and as far as I can tel he has not made one scrap of difference to any halves' performances

I don’t really find this argument convincing. Lowering intensity is going out and establishing a lead and then getting your best players off for a rest. It’s not looking like you can’t score and winning a game by giving yourself a heart attack every week. I think you’re giving the coach too much credit if you think he has a grand plan where he’s going to hide all his trump cards and magically unleash them come finals time. I am sure if the Brad Arthur had the option he would win the games in much more comfortable circumstances.
We’ve only been waiting for 7 years for all these magical new moves and tactics. It would be the ambush of all ambushes.

Waqa Blake has also missed more tackles than any other centre and is 8th overall in the NRL. Do you really think the defence on that edge is fine and dandy?
No but I think it's good enough, or else we wouldn't have the second best defence in the NRL. I'll keep coming back to this. The idea is to win games, and that requires attack and defence. I don't have a problem with our defence. Of course we're going to concede tries, and when we do it'll most likely be around our weakest defender Mitch Moses. Teams organise to generate overlaps on that side, and against an overlap the outside backs can't just "stay on your man, idiot". The outside defenders need to make a decision against superior numbers and it's up to the opposition to read that and make the correct play. If Blake and Ferguson just rigidly mark their man you'll find Moses by himself against a fullback and an edge forward. That would be a disaster a lot more often than what's currently happening.

When Sivo and Jennings scored all their tries this year did you stop and wonder why the opposition defenders let them get outside them?

I’m sure he would too. But lowering intensity is Junior & RCG not cranking out 140 minutes between them, it’s less support runs, it’s playing at a lower tempo all while working on defence and getting basics right. And it’s not about hiding your trump cards, just not putting them on display every time

And this
The point you're missing is that performance on game day is directly related to how the team prepares through the week. Obviously the harder you train the less rest the players get. And likewise when managing fatigue and injuries there will necessarily be a drop in training intensity.

He worked with Manly in 2011 when they won the comp.

His brother honestly has a better record to be working with halves to be fair.

Maybe sportsbet heard about BA’s super secret moves, and he may be a chance of unleashing them this week.

yep, as I said last week, we’ve been keeping our amazing right side attack a secret.

Fergo to score 3 and Moses to kick 3 40/20s on Thursday.

we’ll get them back for 96-10 last year

ROFL!

Even with their injuries, they are a more clinical outfit than ours, with much more experience in big matches.

We may win, but there is no way I would have us as favourites.

someone just loaded up on Melbourne as the odds have now flipped with us $1.95 to Melbourne $1.85
