Like I said, other then plod lovers like yourself, there is a reason why a lot of us are getting antsy when it comes to the signing so far. Absolute plodders.

We need a couple of decent signings at least or we can forget about next season being genuine premiership contenders.

Maybe that's part of the long term strategy. Sign more nuffies, struggle through the season, put enough pressure on BA to justify signing an as yet unidentified replacement.

To be fair one of his DUI’s was sleeping in the car out the front, I believe. Not excusing it, it’s still very stupid. Perhaps not as stupid as trying a shifty in one of the most surveilled buildings in the country If he pulls his head in, he’d be a decent acquisition.

Edit: looks like he's played more centre than wing in recent years. That's ok though. His teams have been winning games. His career record at centre is 9 and 4. An almost 70% win rate, albeit a small sample.

Probably true but if it was as easy as just signing all the players you need before each season we would've won more premierships.

The best players have the best stats and the worst players have the worst stats. In between there is some nuance.

Obviously people like yourself think there are only two categories of player: the best ones and the worst ones. So you obviously don't believe in nuance.

As for Michael Oldfield, I don't think it would be a good sign if he played 20+ games for us next year but he'd be a lot better for ten games than most reasonably priced alternatives. And with Mennings still on the cap we will only be looking at reasonably priced options. Welcome to reality.

Mate, I can't say I know much about him other than some of the things I've read. I know he applied for the Titans job.

Oldfield can also play fullback without embarrassing himself or the team. I can't see a problem in his signing. Just depends who else you've signed. I'm hoping for either Super Morgs or Steve Mavin.

To be fair, Opacic isn’t a perennial back up. He’s just been injured. He was more than decent in 2019. One year deal, I’m sure we will be chasing someone else as well.
