We withdrew when he did it. Staggs will be 9 months fully recovered. We withdrew from Welsh when he was all but signed for that reason and now he's close to the best prop in the game.

Not at all. Am more than happy with RCG. I am a big fan of Welsh though. My point is that a prior ACL isn't necessarily a reason to withdraw. Is he, though?

2021 stats
Christian Welch
9 tackle breaks, 11.6 hit-ups per game, 323.5 post-contact metres, 212 tackles at 87.5%, 137m average per game, 962m total
Reagan Campbell-Gillard
7 tackle breaks, 13 hit-ups per game, 378.4 post-contact metres, 205 tackles at 90.8%, 144m average per game, 1,009m total
Case of "grass is greener", maybe?
A good player yes but he lacks aggression. If he has JWHs aggression combined with his other skills he would be the best prop in the game.Payne Haas is the best prop in the game and Welch isn't close. Nobody is.

Generally yeah, but in Welsh's case if I remember correctly we would have had to wear a great deal of his recovery on our payroll?
That's a big change in costs on any contract, without even considering the risk of a less than complete recovery.
3 I think. 2 at Moanly from memory, and one with us.Two I think.
By the way, and off topic,, how do I delete comments I want to delete, if that is possible?

Thanks for the tip. I have worked it out now.You can't delete a post, you can edit it and delete the contents and repost it with a minimum of three characters like "... "or "Double" for example.
Remember, the internet is forever!
Never any guarantees. I think he was back early the following season and was outstanding. Seems a real leader to me and an asset on and off the field. He was obviously Brthurs plan A before his injury.Generally yeah, but in Welsh's case if I remember correctly we would have had to wear a great deal of his recovery on our payroll?

I'm not sure RCG was available then. I would have been happy to have Welch, I agree he is a great player, but it all turned out OK in the end.Never any guarantees.
