Yeah. Not expecting massive things from him. This is the first game I have managed to see him play. I am thinking there might have been a bit of celebrating last week. They were soundly beaten but in saying that the halves were let down by a forward pack that was turned around and not allowed to gain much room. As it got into garbage time they started to get a little bit more room.

I heard Burleigh hit the drink long and hard until Tuesday and didn't have their first training session till Wednesday afternoon.

Agree with Gutha but his running game is not strong enough for mine in the halves. Basically, you will know he will mainly pass. Watching Cronk and Maloney over the last 2 weeks shows how much a running game means to a half.

However, in saying that, if BA adopts Norman as a either side 6 and Gutha is always first receiver, then he may not need to run as much as long as he has options (support) on either side and French bobbing up behind him.

I really can't see why Hoffman would join to play wing after playing centre at the tits and previously saying he wants to play 1.

I reckon BA said to him, we don't have a permanent 1 yet. It's yours if you fight for it.

He'll probably get first shot in the trials at 1.

It was reported a number of times the Gold Coast don't want Hoffman for season 2017. I guess he saw an opportunity to sign a three year contract with us so took it as his options may have been limited. Depending on weather we sign an NRL level number seven will depend on who out of French and Gutherson plays 1 for us next year. Or BA may not be convinced French is physically ready to play fullback week to week so has the option of moving Hoffman there to give French a break if Gutherson plays 6.

Newcastle got the best part of that deal. Buhrer is a good club footballler who can play lock, second row and hooker. Uate hasn't looked anywhere near decent for for three seasons at least. Buhrer must have been signed to some huge money or pissed off Barrett. He didn't play the whole season but he was one of their better players.

Nathan Brown needs to slap Trent Barrett again....
