Despite our position on the ladder currently, we aren't within cooey of the top teams, and after 8 years of the same head coach a healthy financial situation, the largest membership in the League and 3-4 years with stable management, it's just not good enough.

This season in particular, a club like the Roosters have shown us how it's done properly, both on and off the field. The adversity they have faced this year is beyond belief, yet, they are still a better proposition to win the comp then we are. It's shameful from our side. And, week after week we continue to slide downhill, and it ain't going to get any better in the upcoming weeks. We're toast this season.
All that adversity and still picked up more Origin appearances than us. What a great club.

This year will prove to be a good one for the Roosters it’s shown what a tough, resilient well drilled team they are while blooding some excellent young players who will be winning them big games in the seasons ahead.
Quite different from last year when they conceded 60 points before the finals and went out in straight sets then sacked the coach.

And we have the most football members in the league in the fasted growing area in Sydney with the best stadium.

Shits gotta change.
If only we could convert it into money. Why do we only get an even share of the broadcast money? It's bullshit. The Roosters don't share their Uncle Nick money with us. We shouldn't be giving them our share of the broadcast revenue.

These arguments from more popular clubs is what created the English Premier League.

Pou has already said we can't afford the best. So, that's it then.
When have we ever had a coach the good clubs wanted? We lost Ricky Stuart to f**ken Canberra ffs! No chance the Roosters or Storm would poach a head coach from Parra. Here's our list of coaches since Gibson:

YearCoachCareer after Parra
1984-1989Monie26 wins (Warriors)
1990-1993CroninNone
1994-1996HidlitchNone
1997-2006Smith66 wins (Knights/Roosters)
2006Taylor51 wins (Bunnies/Tigers)
2007-2008HaganNone
2009-2010AndersonNone
2011-2012Kearney33 wins (Warriors)
2012, 2014-2021Arthur-
2013Stuart98 wins (Raiders)

There was a little bit of demand for Smith and Taylor but they didn't have long careers after leaving us. Stuart has done the best, winning almost as many games as Arthur, but he is at a mid-tier club, which is Parramatta's tier. To claim we're any higher than that isn't supported by the calibre of coaches we've had since our last premiership. A few of them won premierships, but that says more about the relative importance of the head coach to a team's success than it does about the coaching ability of Monie, Hagan or Stuart. I believe Brad Arthur is as good as them, by which I mean he is solid, but non-elite. To call him a bush coach is incredibly disrespectful.
The last time I felt like this about a coach was when Brian Smith was in charge. I really liked him, but his time had come and gone. It was time for a change and I was glad to see the back of him in the end. It is the same now.

Watching the shite we have dished up for many weeks now (not just the last 2 weeks), it's clear that whatever is happening, it just isn't gelling and we aren't moving forward with promise and prospects of improving and becoming a contender. It's the same old, same old, year after year.

f**k, we really should be the biggest club in the NRL. We have so much potential, and so much going for us, however we just keep getting dished up the same old hope every season with so little to show for it.

It's 35 seasons since we have won a premiership. That is the biggest joke of all, yet none of us are laughing.
Maybe it's good Pou posts here because that's the only thing we can laugh at.
Because I don't understand the game and you find it amusing that I think I do? That's very hurtful.

Give me an estimate on how much you think BA is on and the rest of the coaches in your post.
I think Arthur's is on about $500k. Green would be on f**k all as the Queensland Origin coach, maybe $100k? Flanagan isn't even coaching but I'm sure his media gig wouldn't pay much more than $100k-$150k. How often does he even work? I only ever watch games on Kayo and I don't think I've ever heard him on there. Maguire is probably on about the same as BA. Those are my guesses. What are yours?

I know, and I used to hate it, but better funded clubs with fewer fans have been dominating this comp for a decade now. They can get f**ked.
Where are the stats on TV viewers for all matches? I'm not sure the Storm and Roosters would have many less viewers than us across a season.

Arthur would be on a minimum of $700k.

Flanagan you could get for $500K, Madge about the same. Green probably less. Bennett would want at least $1m.

Arthur took a solid pay cut last year, along with everyone else who kept their jobs. I wonder how downsizing went at the Roosters, Storm and Souths.

How slick does the Manly team look in possession! That’s with generally lesser players than we have, that’s how you can tell coaching is an issue that needs to be addressed.

Lesser players?

Turbo Tom
Dce
Schuster
Walker
Foran
That's 5 creativity players with speed and ball skills.
Add Saab,Harper,Parker and they have speed out wide also.

I said this at start of year. Our only potential x factor in backline is Waqa.
Sivo,Guth,Opacic are too slow. Fergos old and slow off mark. Dunsters a rag doll.

Was suggesting it’s how they set up and move the ball. As for Foran and Walker, you are kidding.

cetainly we lack real pace, but our setup and basic structures are second rate, that is a big problem.

This would be the team I'd be fielding next week:
1. Gutherson
2. Sivo
3.Blake
4.Penisni
5.Fergo
6.D.Brown
7.Moses
8.Paulo
9.Lussick
10.Lane
11.Cartwright
12.Matterson
13.N.Brown
14.Papali'i
15.Kaufusi
16.Niukore
17.Smith

We are really missing impact off the bench and I feel Papali'i will give us that. Penisini offered more in attack than Opacic and I think his defence is just as good. Cartwright is wasted on the bench so he's been promoted to the starting side to offer some spark to the left edge.
Agree, personnel changes badly needed, bring in Makatoa and/or Hollis on bench and an injection of speed. Peninisi for Opacic, Niudruki/Russell for Sivo and Fergo back. Don't hold your breath waiting for BA to be proactive tho.

Maybe if we’d won 3 premierships in the last decade instead of 3 spoons the fans would be a bit more forgiving if we were to ever concede 60 points and go out in straight sets.
They might be but it wouldn't change who was to blame for such a shit performance. If it didn't mean Robinson can't coach then it doesn't mean Arthur's can't coach.
