They're probably more reliable than our flawed memories hey? That's why coaches use stats to see the big picture.

Too bad one played in the middle and one played mainly on the edges, of course you'd love to show us all the stats which no doubt support your arguement. Besides excellent line speed all I remember from Watmough were penalties, mistakes and not much else. He admitted himself his attitude stunk and he couldn't wait to get away from the place and get home. But yeah the stats the mutha f**king stats baby!!

His attitude has never stunk and it's not what he said. He just said he wanted to go straight home after work. I'm sure Beau Scott is no different. Most married mature men don't want to hang around young single blokes in their free time. Watmough would've just felt that he missed out. But I'm sure Arthur bought him for his speed in the middle and his leadership. Not to socialise.

As for Scott, his attack was pedestrian in the middle and out wide. Ma'u, Moeroa and Edwards all put up good numbers on the edges, so for Scott it's no excuse. I'm stoked we have Beau Scott, but Watmough was always a better player.

Except Scott is reported to only cost us about 2/3 of what Watmough's was earning. In regards to your last sentence, Choc wasn't in the squad much this year so it wasn't really a case of needing more old hard heads, just the right one.

Cronulla showed this year that more experience is better than less. And this year our youngsters were all a year older, benefitting from another pre-season with guys like Watmough, De Gois and Scott.

I'm sure Watmough would've made it onto the field if we were in the finals. He ran for 100 metres in his last game for us (actually five of his last six games). He was unavailable after that because he went in for surgery to prepare for 2016, not because he was too injured to play.

Its like Sandow was picked in the emerging QLD sqaud so he must be good. His attack offsets his defense. Then it was you have have a half back that can defend.

Its used to be that you need young players to get better value for money. Now because Cronulla won a premiership you need more experienced old heads.

Now its Watmough was better then Scott because he had better attacking stats. When its plain to everyone (that doesnt judge a footballer purely by a number on a stats sheet) that Scott in is much better for our team.

The blokes a wanker, plain a simple. You can take that as gospel without the stats.
