A small update:

A mate of mine who has been right about plenty of things at the Bulldogs was certain that Mahoney would sign a 4 year deal today.

As of now that hasn’t happened and the Dogs are a little anxious.
Maybe BA has finally spoken to him…

you’d think if his plan was to sign with the dogs today that he’d have addressed the team and told them this morning, so by now it would have leaked to the media.

Ok, people not posting in anticipation!

Adam reports that he is doing very well and training hard at Canberra.

He is hoping to find good influences there socially.

He is very impressed with Ricky Stuart as a coach and as a person. I would agree with that. He’s come along leaps and bounds in recent years. Becoming a statesman in the game.

Some of the boys are not over-enthused with young Starling being in trouble mostly due to team impact.

His true friends are hopeful that Adam will succeed and make the most of this opportunity.

So far so good.

I am sure we all speak as one in wishing him the best. There is a lot of family and friends behind him as he addresses his challenges.

Adam has done a lot of work for the disabled and has a proud indigenous heritage.

He is also going out with that pretty prop. Half his luck.

Plenty of teams have gotten to the grand final by causing upsets.
I'd say getting within two points of the Storm (2017) and putting 50 on the Broncos (2019) were both upsets. They just weren't the type of upset that turns a loss into a win. But they were the same degree of luck on the day to create an unexpected result. That's all an upset is. We got within two points of Penrith last start. That means with more luck we could've beaten them. Maybe next year we will. No game is a foregone conclusion.

Keep hoping long enough and eventually an upset will happen.
True, but I'm hoping we can actually get to where we're strong enough to be the deserved favorites on the day, three games in a row. Not just hoping for an upset. I think our club's recent recruitment/retention strategy is a solid start.

It’s been 35 years. How much longer do you think is a reasonable amount of time to wait?
I think it's fair to say our chances haven't been the same in every one of those 35 years. Do you think if a team doesn't win the comp in a given year that they were no chance of winning it that year?
