It is kind of sad the media still run to Ray Price or Brett Kenny when we hit a form slump.
I mean wtf would those old guys know as far as fixing the club. All they ever seem to do is put shit on the club.
Its sad

But everyone like me who was born in the 1990s or afterwards who weren't born when Ray Price played.

Only see pricey as a bitter old man who is after a cheap headline to stay relevant & has been shitbagging the club for the 23 years that i have been following the Eels.

Not the legend and warrior he was.

My grandmother reckons he was the toughest player she has ever seen. We last won a comp on the day he retired. And we didnt win one before he arrived.

Look mate, I get why someone of your younger years would feel this way, Hell I too may feel this way if I was of your vintage and had never seen this mans will, courage and talent in action, but for one he is the greatest player this club has ever had pull on a jumper and I would rate probably in the top 5 or so to ever play the game and just plain pathetic and embarrassing that he isn't an immortal so I think he is entitled to an opinion whether we agree with it or not.

Secondly I think he is just frustrated that the club that he bled for more then anyone else and the greatest club in the league while he was playing, has fallen so far down and can't get its sh*t together enough to win one damn premiership in over a generation(generation is 28 years) since he retired. He is a single bloody minded hard nut of the old school kind and of course he will have an opinion when someone asks for it and won't mince words. Why should he? He has earned that right more then probably anyone and just because we may not like what he has to say, well tough. You're a big boy, learn to deal with it and take it for what it is. If his opinion didn't have merit, do you think he would be criticizing the club he loves?

You slam our club all the time, which is fine, but you never bled for it or are anywhere near his age watching year after year as long as he has us lurch from one failed era to the next. Remember this guy never, ever made excuses for anything. He was the ultimate warrior. All his team mates feared his wrath if they let the team down and didn't give 100%. He was our culture of success. So imagine how he must be sitting there watching and listening to all the clubs failures and and excuses and be apoplectic with frustration if not rage at times. People like him are just not tolerant of repeated failure. It's just not how they are wired and why they get off side with so many others.

Sure he isn't capable to fix it and has no real solution other then suggestions like the rest of us, even if he thinks he could, but like I said, he is entitled to them like we all are, but I think without the snickering and endless criticism that many on here are so quick and easy to hand out. He deserves a little better I think. It's not like he is making unfounded and outlandish statements anyway. What he is saying all of us, bar pou and his posse of apologists have been saying for over 35 years now.

You may say he is bitter, but I don't think he is. I just think that he is Ray F**king Price the guy that has never taken a backward step and sure as hell never made any F**king Excuses!!!

He was extremely tough. But it's a shame that's mostly what people remember him for. He was also a brilliant cover-defender; was a great attacking player with more speed than a lot of lock-forwards at the time; had a very good sense of the game; was a great on-field leader; and was very agile and skilful for a forward. May well be the best all-round player Parramatta has ever had.
