What was disgraceful from our forwards and a few points it out is that when Moses and Dylan Brown weee copping cheap shots from Pangai and the dogs that none of them stood up for them. Our Cowards hid. Soft like their f**king coach

It seems as though the aggression has been coached out of the players.

Makatoa last year was very aggressive when coming on from the bench I especially remember him going after the Panthers in a game.
This year soft.

Our General Manager aka Trolley boy O’Neill thinks he is Brad Pitt from Money Ball. Buying shit on the cheap. Out smarting himself. How the frig do you keep Lane but let go Matterson, Papallii, Nikore? How ?

I really think we need backrowers next year.
If it means getting Angus Crichton and going for Fifita with Titans chipping in then so be it.
I think we have enough middles.
Barlow, RCG, Rodwell, Greig, Hopgood, Ogden, Makatoa. Not saying that's a smorgasbord of talent there but more concerning is the lack of backrow options. I'm counting Nrown gone as well as Matto? plus all the other confirmed departures.
We really only have Lane as a backrower for next yr.
That's where the forwards recruitment should be. Quality backrowers. Hole running backrowers, not bash and barge. All too predictable otherwise. Can never accuse us of chasing the collision. 🤦‍♂️
That needs to change quickly

Crichton has resigned with the Roosters.

When the NRL announces that the 2023 salary cap is increased from $9.5 to $10.5 million, the NRL will register his contract.

We're the only stupid f**kers signing players as if there will be a $9.5 million salary cap.

There was one moment when someone (Brown, I think?) got in Pangai's face.

And Reg was mouthing off at him all game.

But you make a good point.

We really are effed then.
Need to go after players like Josh Curran, Harawira Naera, Matt Doorey.
If we can score 2 good backrowers then Lane can play as a middle.
The thing I don't get if the cap is going up then why aren't we keeping Matto and why have we lost all the others.
Something really stinks.
Looks like we need a massive overhaul from top to toe

To be fair, the predictions of those critical of the club and BA have ended up being pretty spot on over the last few years.

Some predictons have. Others that don't turn out get conveniently forgotten. I don't give a shit whether the club replace BA. But they should only do so if they have a credibly better option. I certainly have sympathy with the argument that we paid more to retain Gutho than we might have. But on the other hand, a consequence of signing players at salaries that give you good value (e.g. Ice) is that eventually their contract comes up for renewal, and they cost you more to retain them. Add to that the fact that there's a new team in the comp with a likely healthy dose of salary cap-sympathetic TPAs available, then teams are on average going to get weaker in 2023. Again, judge the 2023 squad by what the 2023 squad actually is, not by a roster that is not anywhere near filled.

I think it’s fair to be deeply concerned with our 2023 roster as it stands, considering the list of players off contract in the positions we need to replace…or are contracts not worth the paper they’re written on and we’re going to replace them with equal or similar quality contracted alternatives?
