EELS PINCH RISING DRAGON​

The Dragons have lost another of their promising juniors - this time to the Eels.

Jack Burrows, a strapping 18-year-old prop, has been a standout for renowned league nursery St Gregory's College at Campbelltown for the past couple of years but has slipped through the Dragons' net and been poached by the Eels on a two-year deal.

He'll play in the SG Ball next season but good judges tell me he is destined for higher things at in coming years.

I feel we're more likely to be Premiers this season than we have ever been at any stage in the last 20 years, with the exception of 2005.

That doesn't neccessarily mean we'll end up winning the comp this season, but we are better chance than we've ever been for 17 years.

I didn’t say they can’t. Any team can get ambushed at any time. That includes us and it includes our opponents. It’s very exciting.

As for where an early season opponent was on the ladder at the time we played them it is completely irrelevant. A team’s quality emerges over more games. That’s why we play the finals after 25 rounds instead of 5. It’s a bigger sample.
