Rumours and Stuff

I know we extended Rein but i don't think that was a good move.
My concern is Yates or Hands have barely started as hooker in the reserves.
If Hodgson was to go down early or not be fully recovered start 2023 season there's not much confidence in the remaining guys to get the job done.
Would've though Hands may have at least got 2m 23 seconds on the bench in 1st grade to show his wares
Good point. Idle Hands do the devil's work.

I hate this reneging on deals shit. If we didn't value him high enough at the time he signed with the Tigers, then that should be our problem, not the Tiger's. Merkin should see out his deal for everyone involved.
I hate it when it works against us. If it means keeping great players at our club I’m all for them reneging their deals if they’ve signed elsewhere.

A bit of food for thought....would everyone be happy to keep Papali'i if it means we have to pay a significant portion of Nathan Brown's deal next season AND the Tigers use these savings from Papali's backflip to land Crichton?

Personally, I think this is a decent outcome - and if not, i hope Eelementary's mail means that Crichton is coming!

Not a fan. Pretty Sure we are still paying some of Daniel Mortimer's contract FFS.

Sounds like he’s the one with the problem, not us. I doubt we’ll up our offer. If he wants out of Wests he’ll probably need to take less money.

Well, that's one way of looking at it. If it's simply a matter of $$ then I agree. But if the bloke was pitched a deal suggesting a certain coaching team and strategy, and that disappears, then he's at least within his rights to at least ask the question. And of course, this is the DT, and they are known to pull stuff straight out of their arse.

I'll be honest I love Papali'i but he knew what he was getting Into when he signed.

He took the easy money when he could have easily stayed for less in a better system especially when he came from a basketcase like the warriors who are similar to the Tigers.

If we keep him great but I have no sympathy he could have stayed originally if he really wanted too.

Nah it’s our fault because we didn’t want him. Just like any club that loses a player to a bigger offer. We’ve got a salary cap to manage, and paying mercenaries top dollar will end up biting us on the arse.
