No arguments there however we should be playing our best 17. Maka is not better than NBrown. Full stop.
Is it time for Nrown to go? Yes I believe it is and time to promote some young bulls next yr especially if we don't snare we don't sign established 1st graders

Picking your best 17 is best practice, but you also need to reward positive actions and team priorities. We don't know what's been happening at training / behind the scenes.

We obviously are banking on Hopgood and that Moisea (sic) guy to present plenty of bang for buck.

True. $9.3m / 30 = is $310k so you don't have to be Stephen Hawking to work out that paying our 6 & 7 $1m each. our 1, 8 & 10 $700k etc merkins will have to get paid unders.

Hopgood I have heard will deff be a top 17 player.
I think it's sad if it took Stefano leaving to learn our lessons. Surely we worked this out 25yrs ago.

We actually have a few young forwards that I think the club are banking on as players who will give bang for their buck over the next couple of years.
- Wiremu
- Ogden
- Hopgood
- Momoisea
- Rodwell
- Moretti
- El-Zakhem
- Yates
- Mataele
Add these to Junior, RCG, Lane, Matto, Cartwright and Makatoa.

I reckon we need 1 more good edge forward with first grade experience and that would be 16 forwards (not including hookers) in the squad that whoever is coaching us in 2023 should be able to work with.

Agree and that's why I reckon we snare Crichton we would have pretty good coverage in the fwds.
Backrow options at this stage are:
Lane
Cartwright (on outer?)
El-Zakhem
Moretti
Mataele (bolter)

As we can see we are pretty light on hence why we need to sign an established backrower.
Also I think we need to chase another hooker.
The Tigers actually have 3 decent hookers who in my opinion are all better than Rein
-Liddle
-Simpkin
-Nu Brown

Yes Liddle is injury prone but a very capable hooker...I think he just needs a change of clubs
Simpkin is an up and comer and now has 1st grade experience and will only get better
Nu Brown has been impressive since coming back to the NRL

I don't see us buying another one.

I know we extended Rein but i don't think that was a good move.
My concern is Yates or Hands have barely started as hooker in the reserves.
If Hodgson was to go down early or not be fully recovered start 2023 season there's not much confidence in the remaining guys to get the job done.
Would've though Hands may have at least got 2m 23 seconds on the bench in 1st grade to show his wares

Just cause ever-sunshine(when it comes to defending the club or coach) Gronk said it's so doesn't make it so.

Who the hell really knows how we are budgeting and balancing our cap?

On a slightly different tangent, I'm hoping we have enough space in this years cap to sign a good bench forward that will give us a boost when RCG and Junior have a spell. It is our biggest momentum killer at the moment.

Oh and @Gronk I did tell you earlier this year that the cutoff date for signings was August and you said June 30. As usual guess who was right again?
