If we miss the semis and BA is boned I think having Nathan Brown (the former coach) at the club is the best possible interim coach to recruit until we land our prime target that is probably still under contract. I’m talking Bellamy, Payten, Robinson etc.

The games I’ve seen from his this year he’s been bog average, if it keeps Jakey away from the bench for the rest of this year I can cop it for the rest of the year. Another year is simply madness IMO. We’ll have a team of pensioners before Bea is done.

What would it have to do with your fav Jakey? .... i think it would just mean Maka goes back to reggies if we have a fully fit team ... Marty, Marata, Oregan as 3 forwards off the bench just means its even more likely to make that 4th spot be for backline coverage

Yeah I’m just trying to trigger Gronky. Hopefully he takes Maka’s spot he is not the player he was but for 20-25 mins he could do a job.

Love the taupau signing boys. Especially if he's there next year to fill the void for the guys we've lost. I assume Brown is leaving to accommodate him? Now we manage to keep Papa for next year and recruit the Hammer and we're set. I also wouldn't mind looking at Marsters and Turpin as backups as well. People thinking we can't challenge for the premiership next year are dumb we still have the side to do it.

Look i said we needed another front rower so can't really complain about Taupau.

And it's not like clubs are going to release 26 year olds in there prime.

He won't be starting and offers more then what Makatoa and Kaufusi are atm off the bench

JA thing is over for now. If he is picked again then perhaps bring it up. But untill then can we all put it down to a bad experience and forget about it for now.

Yes. If N.Brown found some form a bench of Bryce,Tapau,N.Brown,Marata looks pretty potent.

Marty doesn't strike me as the mentor type.... Perhaps if he went by "Martin" he'd have a bit more gravitas....

Manly fans don’t seem too sad at the prospect of seeing Tapau leave.

He's very overrated (or he was) and probably overpaid there. But he is still an experienced first grader and would be worth a 2023 deal at the right price. He certainly fits into our attacking style though unfortunately isn't the sort of player who would help our defence.

We've been linked with him a few times in the past IIRC, over several years. Would certainly be an upgrade on Kaufusi if he sticks around.

And especially Makatoa, no matter how cheap he is
