If he kills it all they have done is paid a guy what he is perhaps worth-That's best case and maybe 2 years before he is worth that money.

true they will have paid him market value for his entire contract instead of peanuts for the first year then an upgrade later on like everyone else does

I wonder if the Cowboys are really regretting playing him in that final. He would have been the logical choice to ease into first grade in the next 2 years then replace Thurston. Instead he showed a bit to the rest of the world and another team came up with a deal that the Cowboys probably would never have had to match had he not played.

One is supposedly getting $3m...the other a pie and a can of coke....
Hasnt Blaise only signed for a year? ... he wont get near 1st grade any time soon, and if he does any good he will be on more than a pie and coke - probably a sausage roll too

2 years. He knows he won't be anywhere near first grade this year, he's coming off an ACL injury and just wants to get back on the field and play again.

STAYING PUT: Brett Kimmorley is expected to remain Wests coach.

See your ad here
WESTS coach Brett Kimmorley will stay on as Wests coach despite taking up a role on Parramatta coach Brad Arthur’s NRL staff.

The former Test and Origin half appeared at Parramatta training for the first time this week and is expected to mentor Eels play-makers Corey Norman and Clint Gutherson.

Widely tipped as a future NRL head coach, Kimmorley juggled the Devils head-coaching role with media commitments at Fox Sports and with Triple M NRL last season. The Devils reached the 2016 grand final in the first year of his tenure at Parrish Park, going down 28-16 to Dapto.

The Wests coaching role has proven a springboard for coaches advancing to the highest levels of the game, with current Dragons coach Paul McGregor having coached the Devils to a three-peat of titles between 2010-2012, while Kimmorley’s predecessor Jason Ryles is now a senior member of Craig Bellamy’s coaching staff at the Melbourne Storm.

Interesting, so it's quite possible Noddy will be coaching players next year that will be selected for the dragons 20's / nsw cup side (maybe even sg ball players) yet he is helping the eels out.

Players not picked for 20's / NSW cup drop down to the Illawarra Carlton league

The Parramatta Eels have today announced the signing of New Zealand and Samoan international Frank Pritchard for the 2017 season.

Pritchard joins the Eels from English Super League Hull F.C and has a wealth of NRL experience with over 248 games for both the Penrith Panthers and Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. He has played 27 tests for New Zealand and 5 tests for Samoa including captaining last year’s victory over Tonga in the Pacific Test at Parramatta Stadium.

Head Coach Brad Arthur said Pritchard brings a wealth of experience and expects he will provide a strong contribution to the 2017 squad.

“Frank has played at the highest level and I am sure our Members and fans are pleased that we have secured Pritchard as we lead into 2017,” Head Coach Brad Arthur said.

“We have had a strategy over the last two months to retain our key players, and when necessary, bring in strong additions who will allow our squad to progress to the next level. Frank is a good example of a strong addition not only on the field, but as a wealth of knowledge to our developing players."

Pritchard joins Suaia Matagi, Will Smith, Kirisome Auva’a, Nathan Brown, George Jennings, Siosaia Vave and Josh Hoffman as new signings for the Eels in 2017.
