Rumours and Stuff

I think Moses instantly becomes the dolphins number 1 target with Munster staying at storm.

he is the most complete half on the market, Bennett tried to sign him when he was at the broncos.

would not be surprised if they throw him $1.2 - $1.3m a year.

Dyl I think is far less likely or attractive to a club that doesn’t already have a quality controlling half for him to play alongside
We'll throw $700k at ja then to stop the dolphins signing him too

As I was to.d by a “ well informed source”, original offer from Dogs= $600k 4 years
We came back to maintain cap, $550 plus TPA 3 years
Reed called Dogs and said he was staying, within an hour , his manager took a call with an extra $100k from Dogs, game over.
This is very close to what I was saying at the time it all happened.

At 3pm on the Tuesday, I spoke with him and he wasn't even aware of some of the TPA's offered to his manager but told me he was staying. At 8am the next day, he was announced as going to the Dogs.
Yes it was about $$ for him but I don't begrudge him that. He has a future to secure like we all do.

Neither of them are Munster, and Bennett knows that. Ideally I think they will look for another Queenslander, which is the players they have looked at as Marquees so far. It wouldn't surprise me with things going the way they are at Manly, if DCE is in Bennett's sights.
Won't DCE be like 54 in a few years time?

Yes and prior to 2021 his form wasn't origin level. He was seen as a young talented hookerl. After his 2022 would he attract such big offers? He signed at the perfect time.
You'd imagine right now clubs have seen enough to suggest his ceiling most likely isn't as high as what we all thought after 2021. I mean if he stepped up again like he did from 2020 to 2021 then he would be top 3 hookers in the game. But he went backwards.
He turns 25 early next season. I'm sure he will have atleast another season like his 2021 form before his career ends. But how many will be similar to his 2022 form which overall was dissapointing.

I'm also suprised some think Dunster could be a star. I think he could be an ok NRL player. Nothing more. I feel average would be his ceiling.
His may even be flushed out and not play NRL again. He isn't taking SIVO spot. Simmonson,Russel are all ahead of him. Cini most likely as well plus Waqa if still here.
Don't see him getting into our side in 2023.
He doesn’t have much to his game. No real speed or strength. And will be slower now after that injury

2022 most influential in order for mine

1. MOSES
2. LANE
3. D.BROWN
4. RCG
5. MATTERSON
6. JNR PAULO
7. PAPALI'I
8. GUTHERSON
9. SIVO ( He was dynamite when returned )
10. MAHONEY
11. MARATA
12. PENISNI
13. OPACIC

I don't feel like any other had much say in any of our wins.
Kafusi,Makatoa,Simmonson,Blake,Bryce,N.Brown etc where all just squad fillers.

Good hands and smart. High concentration level. But he lacks anything physical that could make him a weapon. His ceiling is probably an average NRL player which is fine. Aslong as we have some talent in other spots.

Remember in the 2000s and 2010s when we used to have fantastic backs with X factor but were thought to be soft in the forwards? (Eg Lyon, Hayne, Inu, Radradra,Tahu). Now it seems like it’s the other way around

I worked with a guy who used to give blood a few times week at the Blood Bank in Clarence Street so he could get a free hotdog and chocolate milk. He'd come to work white as a ghost sometimes. When we'd have meetings and coffee was served, he'd fill his suit pockets with biscuits.
U can’t donate a few times a week, there are safety protocols
There are other "banks" you can donate at several times a week... and might leave someone looking white as a ghost if they overdid it.

That’s fine , he can go earn 600k doing something else then.
I was thinking of calling the membership team tomorrow and saying I don't want to pay for a full season membership. I want to thumb my nose at you blokes and pay for 3 games less..if it's good for a player to take that approach, then it's good for me. I've got 6 tix to pay...mind you they have hit me with an Increase...on what basis? How can they justify an increase?
Cost of living has gone up, we've just seen 6 interest rate increases in a row.
I will make a call tomorrow, time permitting..

Mate, Carty defending on the rhs will struggle big time.

I was for him in the middle coz in defense he wouldn't arm grab so much but really use his shoulders and body.

However, against the Cows, he was defending in the middle and was arm grabbing. Couldn't believe it.

I have given up on Carty, he had his chance against Nth Qld and then he throws that stupid offload along the ground plus the aforementioned arm grabs in the middle.

If Maka ate some angry merkin pills, he would do a good job.

As much as I prefer Matto at lock and ball play and offload, I think he's the best candidate on the Right Edge at the moment.

I thought we signed that Le Bron kid but everywhere that mentions INS and OUTS for next year, doesnt mention him
He's in the SG Ball squad ffs. He hasn't been signed to play first grade. The only reason it was in the news is because it's Parra and his name is Lebron.
