I think it means a full time contract that lasts the duration of pre-season. Often described as ‘pre-season training with the NRL squad’ or similar. At the end of the pre-season they either get a full time contract (top 30 or development list) or they revert to their existing contract status (part-time contract for Flegg or Cup).
Do you mean figuratively or literally?

My guess is figuratively.

I thought he was Lebanon's best player. He should seriously be looked at for a bench spot next year not a train and trial contract

Lane, Murchie, Mataele, and now Buzz is reporting that we've signed Doorey. Given we like to play our edge forwards for 80 minutes, do we need more? And if we can have him on a T&T contract for now why pay more? He's going into his 4th pre-season with us.

I always thought he is ok but runs a bit sideways. Never blew me away in NSW CUP.
Doorey might be a good one. Been injured for a long time but was showing potential and I do beleive our junior yeah?

Doorey got selected in a lot of junior rep sides whilst at Eels/Dogs before debut but coming from us, he never showed anything good at all. Often went off for a HIA every single game, would give away penalties and would flop for penalties by lying down for fake head highs. He came off extremely soft aswell. Gets injured a fair bit also. Good luck with him but from the dogs fans that had hope, that is probably our overall assessment of him.

Young and missed 2022 with injuries. Would of been signed for a cheap contract. Not a huge deal if doesn't work out. He played NRL at age 20 and 21 in one of the weakest sides in the NRL era so its always hard to judge. Look at Sorrenson at Penrith for example. Looks awesome but is he?
I always find the best cheap signings come from weak sides. Not all but most cause they are battling every game. Put them in a strong side and they can look better then they are etc.

Dogs should be top 5 next season. Strong squad. I think they are closer to a title then we are.

SALARY cap pressure has cost the Canterbury Bulldogs one of their best young forwards.

Matt Doorey, 22, a former Australian Schoolboys star and NSW under-20s second-rower, has been snapped up by the Parramatta Eels.

It’s a huge signing for the Eels following the loss of edge forwards Isaiah Papali’i to Wests Tigers and Marata Niukore to the New Zealand Warriors.

Doorey played 13 NRL games for the Bulldogs last year.

He joins Parramatta having been highly recommended by his former coach Trent Barrett, who is now an assistant to Brad Arthur at the Eels.

The Bulldogs already have more than 30 players on contract and will have to lose at least another two before the start of next season.

For mine Doorey is a very good pickup. Potential aplenty. If he stays injury free he should be in the 17. Runs good lines and has a go..
I’m sorry but he’s truly average. Never seen him run a line without either dropping the ball or making positive post contact metres/offload. I congratulate you guys if u truly make him good because he has been seriously horrible with his time with us.

You guys seem to like it, Ogden and now Doorey. Guys who couldn’t even excel at a shit side like us who have been given lifelines at Eels.

How much game time did Ogden get? Maybe 5mins this season. You will always have 5 guys in your top 30 just filling spots. Now and then you get a diamond in the rough. Most the time they are there for NSW cup.

Whats your thoughts on Mahoney? 20w1 he looked drive hed be top 3 hooker in comp. I felt his 2022 was ordinary and shell of himself. Hopefully he can get back to his 2021 form and kick on from that. Potentialy might be the best nine the game.

Buzz has his hate boner for Gould here. Doorey wasn’t even close to one of our best young forwards, barely made the bench in NSW cup. Wouldnt call it a huge signing either, just trying to shit on Gould as much as he can.
