If you were trying to discuss who was the club's topped ranked winger/s in season 2022 - that's a different story altogether - and as #poulogic would probably have to agree, has nothing to do with the sample size of a single round/round 1.

First choice means when every merkin is available.
And fwiw I think Russell likely has more potential than Dunster due to his younger age, and the fact he debuted younger.

Actually, if you bothered to read the conversation with the context intended and be less high and mighty in your attempts to always be the pedantic smartass, you would recall that the discussion the grown ups were having was relating to the probability of Dunster v Russell for Round 1 2023.

My comment was that in my view, Dunster would be preferred (for 2023) because he was preferred for 2022 (yes, I said Round 1 Mr. Pedant). You started throwing team lists out there and discounted injuries as a factor in team selection in your typical "how do I make @Poupou Escobar look stupid and myself look smart" manner and here we are now.

That's fair but him and To'o are different types of wingers. Don't expect the same from them both.
If we can't have a To'o, I'm more than happy to have a Sivo who certainly knows how to finish tries for us.

I reckon Sivo is a better finisher than To’o, who is a better contributor overall. To’o is one of the best attacking players in the game, like a young Blake Ferguson only with more shit friends.

I just think he could do more, Semi was just as big as Sivo and he was always happy to do the hard stuff from our end. Sivo doesn’t, his play the ball is also the slowest in the NRL. That said he’s still easily the best winger at the club but I wouldn’t break the bank to keep him.

Sivo has averaged 130mtrs over his last 2 seasons. Its it out of this world stats but good enough. If took it to 160mtrs it would very excellent.

Sometimes I just think that some people get caught up in a discussion that is devoid of actual facts regarding certain players. Sivo, although some consider him lazy (which may or may not be true) is the best winger our club has atm by a f**king mile and if we cannot find someone cheaper, we pay him what he is worth to our club. If that is more than what we would normally pay for another decent winger, well so be it. He has earnt his worth.
I'm sick of this "he's lazy" arguments.
Those type of comments just come from people who expect us to win a premiership every season and who look to blame anyone and everyone when we don't. Sivo is just one of your scapegoats when it suits you.
Tbh mate, he's the last player in our squad that I'd be pointing the finger at.

I said he’s easily our best option on the wing, but you don’t think he can get involved more?? You don’t think he can get up and play the ball just a bit quicker?? He’s built like a brick outhouse but he plays like a much smaller bloke unless he is 10m out. Would he get away with this sort of stuff at Melbourne or the Roosters??? I seriously doubt it.

He can be a little lazy at times, I feel that's a fair statement. But he still does plenty. I'd like to see him dig in a little more at times. But either way still our best winger.

His physical conditioning is obvious from looking at him. He obviously works very hard off the field. On the field his work rate could be higher but it is good enough for the NRL. Few players are good at everything, and for the ones who aren’t, their strengths and weaknesses are reflected in their price.
