I dont think dylan to centre said much about dylan ... other than they respected his ability to play well in another position

I think it just said they thought that was the strongest team we could field at the time with a bunch of outside backs injured .... and thats certainly up for debate
Dylan wasn't really good last year, 2021.

If he had the same year this year, we wouldve just offered him something and said that's it take it or leave it.

I don't know his back ground but has he played in other positions before?

Some how, they thought that putting a rookie in the spine and shifting the incumbent to centre could work, i am assuming, that he hasn't played much centre before.

I think they thought dyl may just not be the half we want. He shifted his attention in and out of games. But he's athletic, maybe he could do centre

Ja, i felt was always in the thought of ba.

He trains well, he seems mature and does not have brain farts that much at his age. He works hard and is a student of the game. All very good attributes.

I just don't like how slow he is. If ja could some how pick up some acceleration, then i would change my mind

When they did try the ja, dyl switch who was out? Sivo and dunster? We had will, waqa, oppa and russell. Don't recall when we got simonssen but to put in ja, who was also a rookie at the beginning of the year, and switch dyl instead of putting another backup on the wing yells to me ja was in the mix and dyls position was in jeopardy

However, it couldve been that move of shifting him to centre that really kicked him in the bum and he realised that he needed to get his act together

I dont think we moved Dylan to centre until we were missing plenty ... sivo, dunster, russell, waqa, opa(?), edit: and niukore ... it looks like rnd 7 vs knights was the first game where our backs were Perham, Will, Drown, Simonssen ..... did we also give it a run in a trial?

I dont know if there would have been a kick in Dyls bum involved unless it was done as a potential permenant move - but i think all knew it was temporary.

But it may well have played an unintended roll in helping him break out .... i reckon drown broke out cos he ran more. Maybe playing centre helped him think, run first ... and it dawned on him he can burn alot of oppositions with his pace

And yeah i am sure JA was in BAs mind ... but i think it was injuries that led to dyl at centre

Dylan got moved there during round 1. TCT had been hinting it might happen during the 21/22 off season.

I think it just came down to a lack of strength in the centres. Like Strider, I think the belief was that our best 13 given injuries would be one where Jake came into the halves with Dylan at centre, rather than our next back-up threequarter coming in and Dylan remaining in the halves.

But yes there had been some off-season media talk from BA about the possibility of Dylan playing in the centres if needed - perhaps recognition that the squad was a little underdone in the outside backs to cover all injury scenarios?

For choice for round 1, perhaps is what you're looking for there - if you're wanting to indicate first choice/ranked for a season?

You can't choose someone first in a round, if they're unavailable to be chosen... but it's amusing how much energy you guys are still putting into something that was a simple error within a post on emjaycee's part, which he has admitted. This would have been over in two posts - my factcheck, and an (eventual) emjaycee acknowledgement - if you gents hadn't been as apparently ruffled by it 🥱.
Because you keep denying you’re wrong. First choice doesn’t mean the players picked in any given week. Nobody has ‘admitted’ that it does.

😁 Sigh. No one is discussing the semantics of "first choice" except you #poutangent.

The original post and my reply were about "first choice in Round 1 2022". Please read the subsequent posts, where I am in agreement with emjaycee at the assertion Sivo and Dunster could be considered first choice wing options for season 2022 (but not in Round 1, obviously).

Do try to keep up and stick to the topic, if you're going to wade into something that doesn't involve you.

That worked well we were up 26-12 the attack was flowing beautifully and within 10 mins were down 28-26 and had to claw our way back with 3 penalty goals to win the game while our attack went to dogshit for the last 50 mins.
We also belted the Knights with Drown at centre for 80 minutes. Which game is more meaningful? The one where we put the queue in the rack or the other one?
