Well....you cant sign players just for the finals, as that would be after the signing deadline.

As long as every club has access to the same potential deal for Barba.....what can you do?

Maybe not just for the finals, but you can sign them up pretty late though... like Princess Hayne's late season start at the Titans.

I would hate to see things ever progress to a point where some elite players (their manager) orchestrated them going to play rugby somewhere for big bucks then join a team cheap for half a season to make a powerhouse team to try and get a premiership .... let it happen once with one player then no reason it cant progress to something worse down the track

I scratch my head when people allude to Tep's not being a big loss or being terrible in 2016. The fact is he was playing wide when he first broke into the NRL and played last year in the middle. He didn't have the flash plays but he hits with a real whack in defence and works his backside off.

In the 9's tournament final the only real we got there and won that game is because of a couple massive shots he put on.

Just because he doesn't play on the edges and get the barnstorming runs doesn't lessen his value. I'll take a hard worker that wants to be with our club any day over plenty of others.

It isn't looking that great for him so far Hind111. But who knows, the boy might learn to run into a hole or two with ferocious intent next season.

Frizell is IMO top 5 backrowers in comp . I never really heard of him until last season and he never forced himself into reps till this season at 24. Just turned 25. So give Tepai 3 more seasons. Lets see where he is at.
The fact he has 50 games compared to Frizell's 84 and is 4 years younger is impressive alone. Frizell could not hold a first grade spot at 21. You have seen him play at age 18-19-20. Do you honestly think he has reached his Maximum power? Look how much Jnr Paolo improved in that last 18mths. You wont see the best of Tepai this season either but you will see a far more dominant Tepai. I rank our backrow like this -

By the end of this year I reckon Tepai will be in 2nd or perhaps 1st.
