The Lurker giving our BA advice on how not to upset media because of the "important role they play"?!!!
After the horrific witch hunt by the media in years gone past I'm sure BA will tell him on behalf of me and the rest of us...
He can get f**ked!
We love ya BA!

It's a fine line. I think coaches and players have an obligation to keep the media informed but I also understand why someone like BA would tell them to get f**ked.

To be honest though, I haven't seen him be anything other than respectful to the media. He is certainly no Wayne Bennett.

Nothing story. It must be the offseason.

Seems to me like BA is giving the media the respect they deserve.

All too often these merkins are looking for an easy headline or sound-bite to twist for their hot-takes. Parramatta certainly deserved most of the scrutiny they received over the last 12 months but there were also plenty of cheap shots and lazy and sensationalist re-runs (especially in the backend of the year where it felt like there was a weekly or bi-weekly rehash of the timeline of our cap drama waaay past the NRL wrapping it all up).

The roots of this antagonistic relationship go back a great deal further and certainly transcends just the Eels and I feel like it is an issue endemic to the modern media and their desperate drive to churn out low-effort but attention grabbing headlines everyday.

Blokes like Wayne Bennett and Bill Belichick are legendary for their disdain of the media and the continuous stream of stupid or leading questions they have to deal with.

I'm not saying the media have to paint things as picture perfect at Parramatta at every given turn but respect is a two-way street. If the media want to cash in on the general popularity of the Eels by pumping out a stack of rubbish to go with the proper Parramatta news - good or bad - then they have to accept that BA isn't going to give them a second more of his time than he is contractually obliged to in press conferences.

I would say cause he missed the back end of last season otherwise he has to be in
Behind Thurston/Cronk id take Norman over Mbye - Hunt - Morgan - Taylor.
I would prefer Milford thou. Unless its due to Coreys age they don't see him as emerging?

Norman - Milford would be next inline for me

Is Norman really "emerging"? And anyway he's not going to be picked over Cronk-Thurston-Morgan-Milford

Having a blanket ban on the media is not a good idea. They will just rip into us even more than they regularly do as revenge (which would absolutely happen - the media these days feels they are owed everything).

Just stop talking to the worst shitbags (Massoud, Kent, Weidler, etc) and just put up with the rest.

No less "emerging" than Hunt, Milford and Lowe from QLD, as well as Peats and James who are in the NSW emerging blues.

I'd also have him in front of Morgan.
