Or we keep Moses and you sign Teddy. That is more likely.

Teddy's extended family are Tigers, have sponsored Balmain and WT for a looong time. Teddy and his immediate family are not. Teddy's uncle told me that he would leave and wanted to play for the Roosters before he had debuted for the Tigers. Teddy has no connection to the Tigers. IMO he would rather retire.

Very big difference between finishing off a Queensland backline movement, and hogging the glory, and having a heavy hand in the movement in the first place.

Moses just isn't consistent enough to demand $1 million.

Notice how only two other clubs, the Dogs (desperate to throw money at the problem to make it look like they were doing something), and tha Tigers (yeah...) entered the discussion for Moses' services.

I reckon he's probably worth $1 million to those clubs, desperate to throw money at the issue - but a well-run club shouldn't throw that sort of cash at a guy that is just too inconsistent, imo.

Its got nothing to do with "those clubs" it has everything to do with available options. Right now those clubs and your club have Mitchell Moses as an option for a halfback for 2024. If Cleary, Munster, Hughes, Reynolds, Hynes, Walker, were available now, Moses re-signs for Parra at $800K pa and Tigers and Dogs are offering the above guys $1.2M. Slight caveat in that the Tigers have the feel good "homecoming angle" but that goes by the wayside if they have a shot at the above.

Two four point losses in a games against TOP teams is no reason to be slashing wrists. The Sheffield Shield final hasn't been played yet!!!!.
and played minus two of the competitions leading forwards - Matto and Lane. Gee people throw their bums in the corner quickly....In every YAAAAAAAH, there has to be a few BAAAAAAAHS...."You gotta Accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative, latch on to the affirmative, and don't mix with Mr In Between"
Its not the loss Pete its the way we lose. BA said they spent all off season doing defence yet it is deplorable. Our tackle technique is poor and always has been. We don't hit and stick and get the tackler on his back, instead we're scattered like 10 pins after a strike and let the opposition ptb too quickly. We get dominated in the ruck with the slowest ptb speed of probably any team. Quick ptb's is one of the best forms of attack yet we're dummies at it and have always been. So what did they learn over the off season?

Just on our bench... yesterday our starting middles played a combined total of 193 minutes (out of 240).
RCG - 65 mins, Junior - 57 mins and Hopgood - 71 mins.
The remaining 47 mins were shared between Murchie (34) and Maka (13).

I would like to think that Jnr and RCG can do 60 odd minutes per game without losing too much of their effectiveness and with a decent replacement for Hopgood in Matto or Nrown being available, I am sure we would see him do less minutes as well.
Apparently Roosters now looking at Nrown for this year.

what annoys me is that if million dollar boy converts our first try from a relatively easy spot last week, we win by 2 point and if he converts our tries on Friday night we go into extra time

obviously, we f**ked up in other areas as well but this guy should not be asking for anything over $1Mill in my opinion, for that money he should be winning us matches

Radio just reported that Nrown has signed a 1 year deal with the Roosters.
Effective immediately. They quoted News Corp.
Sounds like a win-win - for whatever Nathan was never going to be utilised at our club since mid last season it seems.

Now has our club got an announcement for how we're using the freed up cash - you'd expect for us to agree the release we have something in store to immediately shore up our squad's weak areas.

Do we? It was early in the game. Do you think the Storm wouldn't of changed game plan if they where down by 2 points? If down by 8 they attack more. And if we where up by 2 we probably don't attack as much.

Or the "absolute desperation angle" if you look at things that way...

If its "absolute desperation", why hasnt Moses signed somewhere? It gets back to options doesnt it. If Moses doesnt sign with us, we are back to Brooks/Doueihi with noone else available for 2024. If Moses leaves Parra, your options are?
Seems to me that Tigers and Parra have the same or similar options and the offers are close enough that Moses hasnt signed yet.
