Why was his injury described as season-ending, with talk of requesting cap compensation, if it was only two weeks?

LUCKLESS EELS ROOKIE SUFFERS ANOTHER SETBACK

Sean Russell has reportedly suffered a shoulder injury and will not play again this season.

Wacko’s Whispers reported on Friday that the Eels winger will need surgery on the injury.

Russell was initially named in the 17 on Tuesday to face the Sharks, but was cut from the squad to make way for Bailey Simonsson, who made his return from a shoulder injury.

The 20-year-old did not, however, drop back to play New South Wales Cup.

The club is yet to confirm the injury, but it would be a cruel blow for Russell, who has had an unlucky run of injuries — including a fractured rib and punctured lung last season.

Has anyone at the club confirmed it at all or is Wackos whispers now the go to?

Manly made a prelim final, a grand final and a semi final (week 2) in the 3 years after Hasler left the first time. So he may have f**ked the dogs cap (or it could have been other factors, none of us know for sure) but Manlys cap wasn’t that bad.

Not sure how Hasler f’ed the manly cap the first time when they won two comps.

anyone who doesn’t believe our cap is f^*ked has rocks in their had. We can’t even field 17 first graders.

On a side note, what time does school finish in the NB? 🤣

Yep those back ended deals were a master stroke for the coaches that followed him😂 Wish our club tried that... Again..

We only play with 16 that's the plan 👌

Sometimes they chose not to operate until seasons end. Think Cleary and Rheed 2 seasons back. Wasnt that when Rheed came back early, played 80 every week until it "surprisingly" blew out. Then replaced by Lussick after Roach did his knee. Lussick was then played in the last round " nothing game" while every other firsts player was rested only to be ruled out for the season? Enter Ray "The Rake" Stone.
Oh thats right Lussick had a training mishap. 🙄

Nope. This place is an absolute downer. They take the piss out of TCT for being overly optimistic and this place is the depressing polar opposite.

I know imagine talking up players during the off season... We want to know who is shit so we are prepared! Plus BA what!

Asking for a friend
Is there anyone posting on this forum actually like anything the Club is doing?

We seem to be improving holistically year on year which is positive.

However stronger clubs are progressing a lot faster.

There are always bigger mountains to climb. I just hope we are climbing the right mountains.

Our reserves won 13 games last year. Theirs won 2. It’s not even comparable.
FFS The whole discussion has been about the situation of the club AFTER Hasler left, ie this year.

And this year we are 0 from 6 across all 3 grades. I doubt Manly are doing worse.
