Bryce have been fantastic this season, you are right we have him in the system and we go out and sign a plodder like Davey. You watch he’ll be straight back in the starting side.

Dylan Brown, Haze Dunster and Matt Doorey are the only players from the Eels’ 2017 SG Ball-winning side in the current NRL squad.

In contrast, Penrith have graduated nine players into NRL from SG Ball between 2014 and 2017, including Nathan Cleary, Jarome Luai, James Fisher Harris and Brian To’o.

Such a weird comparison!!
1. Comparing 4 years worth of players to 1
2. Implying there are a host of other 2017 Eels SG ball players in the NRL that we have lost (are there any others?
3. Undercutting the point attempting to be made by demonstring Penrith only progressed 2.25 players per year (ie less than Parra).

I don't doubt our retention has been poor. Just odd evidence to support that point

Missed tackle stats can be misleading..

How many of those missed tackles were due to rushing up?

How many caused a line break or a try?

Plodson is crap not defending him btw.

You at least have to attempt them to miss them I guess. Stat’s don’t always tell the truth. For instance player X attempts 100 tackles but misses 10 compared to player Z attempting 30 tackles but misses 1.

To be fair to Reed he plays 80mins. Imagine how many Hodgson would or missed. He must only average about 40 and missed a game also. Would be close to 80 missed. He potentially would break the record for most missed in a season

He did give away a dumb penalty and he did put in a really useless kick to keep the scores close

Or are we losing them for those dumb signings of Murchie and Moimesea.

Cartwright will cost a lot more than those two and will block the pathway for Doorey and Mataele. Moretti was barely good enough for reserve grade prior to this year. It’s good that he’s finally had a big preseason but if other clubs are offering more than we want to pay we shouldn’t match it.

It’s about defence, which is why Cartwright is still off contract in May.

Hodgson has found his defensive groove in recent weeks. Don’t lead the line, these slugs will only leave you stranded.
