The next question is IF he is found guilty, how does the club respond. It’s highly unlikely given the occupancy of nsw prisons, the absence of violence and the low reoffending likelihood that he would only cope a fine and good behaviour bond.

The NRL would no doubt apply some sort of suspension, but it would certainly be cause/grounds for termination of his player contract.

I think we're jumping ahead of the game here... we don't even know the specifics of what
these charges actually relate to.

Unless he pleads guilty (and even if he does?), it's unlikely Wednesday's initial hearing will have a verdict and be the end of the matter.

Innocent until proven guilty - and we just have to wait and see if a) Dylan stands down for the round to manage what's ahead of him this week, or b) the NRL decides on a mandatory stand down (based on specifics that it might come to learn before we do), and/or c) the club decides to stand Dylan down (based on welfare or in tandem with Dylan's/NRL's action/info relating to a or b).

hope it's just a matter of a packed pub carrying drinks back and package just rubs on way past No hands involved
I wouldnt be surprised if this is what it is .... only if he did it on 5 separate occaisions it might not be particularly accidental .... tbh it was one of my mates favourite moves on a crowded dance floor back in the 80s

Hmm, Hayne finally "settled" his US civil trial in August 2019 about a very similar matter (whichoccurred in 2015) to that which he subsequently faced charges here.

When he was criminally charged here in November 2018 (for an incident in September 2018) he already had some similar behaviours of concern (albeit disputed until admitted by inference through the settlement in August 2019) on the board.

While the first trial here took until December 2000 and had one or two jurors maximum unwilling to agree with the majority, Hayne's second trial found him guilty in March 2021, with a sentence imposed from May 2021. His team succeed in Feb 2022 on using two technicalities to gain a re-trial, which in April this year again found Hayne guilty of the charges.

So yes in Hayne's situation, a fair bit of guilt was apparent over the past 4 years. I'd be just as hard on Dylan (no pun intended) if the same background and circumstances existed - but at the moment he's been charged and is innocent until proven or admitted guilty.
