The Parramatta Eels have today made the following statement regarding Vai Toutai.

The Club is aware of an incident that took place in December 2016 and, as per the Club’s normal protocols, the Club kept all relevant stakeholders updated throughout the entire process.

This included the NRL Integrity unit.

The Club and Vai Toutai have agreed to a mutual release from his contract and he will not be with the Eels in 2017.

I am of the opinion that the article on King is correct and that De Gois was kept for the same reason as Robson. Experienced back ups should injury or poor form occur. King to start and Pritchard to come off the bench if they don't use size - Edwards becomes the utility and Frank P, Vave and Matagi make up the bench.

King's defence must be poor then, IDG missed plenty of tackles last year (the worse in the club for any player I believe) with Wicks close behind if I remember.

Missed tackles is an important stat for edge defenders but in the middle tackles per minute is far more telling. King has a low work rate. He prefers to wait for attackers to come to him.

IDG will easily be the worst starting hooker in the comp this year. And dummy half will be the main reason we won't finish top 4.

Bit hard to have an error rate when you do absolutely nothing in attack, and decision making is easy when all you do is pass.

Yes and nippy from dummy half. Apparently defense is weak. He is 94kgs so im sure defense can be fixed, it is a differe t case with a guy like Sandow who is just to small and over powered.

Since he's been released after asking for one not all of his salary is counted in the cap. What we've paid for him from the 1st of November until now will be. Assuming that won't be enough to count as top 25.

The actual top 25 spot is more important than the money given how many players we have. If we re-sign a 1 year deal player soon I reckon they'll be taking the top 25 spot. This is of course if Vai was meant to be a top 25 player.
