Career history and stats aside, based just on 2023 form would you have him as "first choice" in the backline, or would you look for a better option elsewhere?

He isn't first grade standard it's probably why we are trying to sign a new centre...

85 games in the NRL across 5 years vs. 9 games in Reggies, yep definitely not NRL quality.

The frustrating part is that with all the good things the club has, crowds, venue, membership , stability - there seems to be a bit of a disconnect compared to other clubs in working the cap and dare we say it, TPAs. BA is well respected but is there someone with the right personality to sell these attributes and get a close to elite player to sign.
Hopefully we see some NRL standard backs signed , and recognition of our juniors by getting a number on development contracts and pre season NRL training., can’t afford to lose this current crop of juniors.
Being close and competitive is good, but need to play with the big boys, that’s what big clubs do.

He’s awful mate. Absolutely limited in every way. He wouldn’t make first grade at many other clubs and the fact that he does with ours demonstrates how depleted and bare we are for talent in the backline.

Not disputing how bare we are in outside backs. One of the challenges faced when trying balance a salary cap and a 30 man squad I guess.

Do you think we should we weaken our pack and spine to sign better outside backs?

Interested in what you think i am "doing in this thread". I challenged JokerEels opinion that Simonsson is only NSW Cup quality, which I disagree with, as is my right, and I responded to Avengers view on Simonsson.

Matt Keating played 100 first game games.

He was never NRL standard

(But I agree with you that it’s a tough call saying Simonson is NSW cup standard. Just because he’s not a superstar doesn’t automatically condemn him to the scrapheap).
