Disappointing that neither RCG or Hopgood made the PM’s XIII squad. Especially Hopgood who I thought would have been odds on given they usually give opportunities to younger players. That they’d pick McInnes over him is crazy imo, and the fact Sloan and Lomax get a run over Penisini I guess shows we overrate him too much

Not fussed it would cap off a another shit season by having some of our blokes injured in a pointless match.

Souths have pulled out Mitchell & Graham with injuries.

Get everyone fit and firing for a big-preseason were going to need it.

Sivo needs to play some barefoot rugby vs some beefy Fijian teenagers who can remind him of the privilege that he possesses and recognise the desire that they have and he once had*.

* Yes this is me crystal ball gazing. I don't know what he thinks or feels.

Brad Parker to us being touted on social media. Billy Smith too. No idea of the accuracy…

Smith yeah...but injury is a big concern.

Parker only as a backup on backup coin.

If they're better options than Cini than they're an upgrade, with the spine we carry, we don't necessarily need world beaters we just need good footballers who can respond to our systems.

Against the better teams, I can't see Momorski or Parker doing the hitups that we will need them to do and be affective.

Momorski has a little toe, but not scintillating, and gets busted as does Parker way to often.

They are not chase the collision type of players. In our squad they should be nothing but break glass when desperate backups.

They can do a job if elevated for 2-3 games at a time but that is all. They are not season long talent, unless you like a leaky 3/4 and not much penetration.

Agree, the only surprise Eels omission for me is Hopgood.

Penisini's omission shows he is overrated by Eels fans (and maybe the Eels club?), I guess also supported by Fittler's straight bat reply that he wasn't even in the frame for Origin consideration.

He is only under performing because the team is due to Potato Head.

I agree there are some quantum leaps that might be made in what seems quite tired coaching... but I'm not yet convinced Penisini will be much better than say Ryan Morgan on a good day? Nothing wrong with being a solid first grader, but it's not the rep-level hype he's previously been afforded in some club articles.
