Yes the weight of all those recent spoons must wear you down. Pity the Tigpies are giving you nothing to look forward to.
Its OK, the anticipation of this place next year with Tuilagi in blue & gold is all I need to get by.

Its very exciting!!

I really would go

10. Emu
9. Lussick
8. Reg
11. Lane
12. Carty
13. Matto

14. Hands
15. Hopgood
16. Joffa
17. Jnr

i feel we need Hands to come on an liven and speed things up a bit together with Hoppa.

He will also be backup for the halves and fullback (i.e. Mitch or Dyl to 1 if Guth is off)

Carty to cover centres (if a centre or wing goes down) which allows Matto to go edge.

If no coverage necessary, then just have to rotate each week the minutes between reg, emu, jnr, joffa, hopgood, matto. i,e. some plays less 1 week and then more the next

Or get rid of one of our backup hookers and offer Phoenix Crossland a contract on Nov 1. Why have two DH's that are ordinary plodders and wasting one bench spot is beyond me?

Why are we so obsessed in having so much crap to cover more crap?

Why did we just sign another average edge forward? If he is even a dollar over the minimum wage that is a dollar to much that could have gone to signing quality in positions we actually need to strengthen with better playing personnel, like a 2, 3 or 9.

Phoenix Crossland is already twice the player either of our DH's are and he just started his journey in that position. He is only 23 years old and 6 foot tall and a great defender that doesn't need to be substituted. His running and passing game is only going to get better with an off season of training exclusively in that position. We need to fill as much of our roster with high quality players especially ones that don't need to be substituted. I don't think I need to explain what that then affords our bench do I?

So like I said, every dollar we spend on mediocrity is only going to further dilute the possibilities of what we can then afford for better players.

Phoenix is contracted to the Knights for 2024, but we can sign him on November 1st for 2025. But I think if we did that we can get him earlier since their captain, Bailey is coming back from injury. Now is the time to strike, not when every other team is going to go in hard. Who knows it might already be too late. I reckon we can get him for around $500-600K no problem, if we offer him a starting position in a quality team as bait. But if we don't do it now and he progresses as I expect him to, he will be in the $700K+ bracket.

Tyran Wishart is the other I would be looking at, but he is harder to get and more work needs to be put in to get him to Phoenix's current level.

600k for Crossland? you just went on about saving $$$ to wanting to overspend on a current backup hooker..

He isn't going to stay or be a backup Hooker from here on in for to much longer.

You do realise the salary cap has ballooned right? Average players now get $300-400K. Look at what we paid for Joffa.

Hearing from a lot of Manly fans that they are pretty happy to see Tuilagi leave.
I'm assuming he's not going to be a starting forward, but if he's going to get regular game time I hope he improves.

Apparently his defence "makes Schuster look good".
That works with the consistent theory on here, very player signed is an absolute plodder and every player we lose is going to be a superstar.

Well 300k for Crossland who isn't a starting hooker is a good price.

The thoughts from these Manly fans on Reddit do not fill me with confidence:

Without being biased, this is a bad signing imo. I was so hyped when I found out we’d signed him from the Tigers, but f**k me, this guy does not want to tackle. Ever. Cannot read shape and literally jersey grabs or activates turn style mode on his arms.

Thank f**k!

Had his moments occasionally where he showed some strike in attack, unfortunately was pretty bad in defence.

If these are the players we lose, we'll be doing well.

Positively the worst 1 on 1 edge defender I have ever seen in a Manly jersey
