We know most of these Penrith players are ordinary because of how they go when they leave. Kikau, Burton, Koroisau, Naden, Staines, Capewell. All plodders. Martin knew it too, as did the other clubs, which is why nobody wanted to pay the big bucks he was after. They look better at Penrith because they usually dominate possession and are rarely under pressure.

Do players decline in their thirties because of their age or because they’ve played too many games? Sivo is a relatively inexperienced player for his age.

Both reasons mate. Also injuries and the mentality of couldn't be f**ked with all the training anymore too.

Speed is another reason as well. Some players lose that initial explosion late 20's early 30's too and if that was their main attribute then they are cactus.

Sivo has always been on the slower side for a winger, so that isn't his main problem, but who knows if he loses even half a yard in the next season or two then he will be a real lump out there and almost totally useless.

But Sivo's main problem has always been his lack of effort and his dumbness in positional play. But his lack of true hard nosed effort is his main problem. He ambles back into the defensive line when carrying the ball in such a non threatening or intelligent way that the defense just swallows him up. Also for a guy that basically had the best palm in the NRL he seems to have forgotten he has arms now.

I suggest he go watch Karina Brown the winger from the Titans in the NRLW Grand Final game this year. Her awesome and brilliant direct runs up the middle of the ruck and her hard carries getting them out of trouble from their end was a lesson all back 5 players should study. She isn't all that big either, just average size. Smart and direct running in between and behind tiring markers is the key at pace and with purpose. If players used their heads a little more there are always great opportunities to be exploited. She showed in that game what many other players don't do, she used her head and nailed them every time she ran the ball. She got them out of trouble almost every time she ran.

Like I said Sivo needs to watch that game and model his game on that type of involvement and effort. It doesn't take super speed or fancy foot work. It just relies on getting in there quick and running straight and hard. Surely even he can do that. But not at runners, but between and around them as much as possible with purpose and hard, with absolutely no hesitation. That was the key. She gave the opposition very little time to even know she was coming at them. Not because she is overly quick, but because she was ready and determined with a purpose to do it and beat the man. Brilliant running. Hard, straight most times, and with gusto and purpose to get the ball past a certain defender/s and make the yards. She nailed it.

Was Sivo still getting the Sivo chant at the home games late in the season when he was scoring tries. I was away for the last few home games.

For a player that seems so maligned the crowd make him feel like a rockstar whenever he falls over the line.

From all reports Taylan May centre next yr.
Alamotti I think is not a bad player but now playing against men and not dweebs like he used to when playing juniors and running rampant.
Plus not overly quick. Maybe an intro to 1st grade before ready and has probably paid the price for it. However I think he wins as he goes to an extremely successful team...comes from a team trying to buy their way out of the doldrums...
Also look at Luke Garner. Didn't actually play that many matches for the panfers this year but now a GF winner. From Spoon 1 yr to GF winner the next. Let's pick up a player from the Tigers quickly. Wouldn't be against Staines, Papalli or wait...ok no one else

I like Starford To'a. He would thrive at a better team and we can talk to him from November 1st. For mine he has more potential then Alamotti, mind you now that Alamotti is going to the Panthers, who knows he may turn out to be an Australian level player once they get him Penrith plugged and ready.

I concur (except I think Alamoti has more potential).

Maybe, I haven't watched him enough to make a hard call on him yet and he is younger. But he just seems a little slow for mine.

But Starford To'a just seems more talented but playing in a really bad team that hasn't got a clue in so many areas, not that the Dogs are that much better.

To'a has some spark about him and plenty of upside with versatility.

Get him out of the shithole that is concord plonk him next to a quality half like Dylan Brown could help elevate his game.

Instead we go out and want to buy some bargain basement trash in Morgan Harper.

Its funny how Tiger fan talks about our newest signing being shit in defense. To'a is one of the worst defenders playing center. He can attack though.

The tigers haven't had a decent defender since Gareth Ellis left the joint.

Anyone can look bad when you don't trust your inside & outside team-mate.

Playing next to Dylan Brown compared to Brandon Wakeham or Luke Brooks and all of sudden your defence will feel more confident.

Ummm… I hate to tell you but they still take it out on you
Nobody is taking it out on him. People are just sick of him trying to justify our mediocrity and just going the opposite of the majority for the sake of it. He hasn't had an original thought since he joined. Now he has been exposed as a fraud so he publicly announces that he puts people on ignore.

What a lame softcock.

True but watching the tigers games he is a part of the reason their D is bad..

He should try to get out of tiger town but would have to take a pay cut as they probably over pay him at the moment...
