I'm thinking the Tigers and Dragons.

Add Canterbury and the Roosters in that group too. Both in geographical no mans land and in the Roosters case no juniors whatsoever. Although having money is a significant and necessary requirement it is only one aspect of admission.

Oh the Sharks may struggle too depending on finances. Is there another RL club out there that is trading well that could do the job?

A farewell message in Insta n the club’s page for Waqa Blake, Jack Murchie, Sam Loizou, Hodgo and Davey.

Maybe I’m out of the loop but I didn’t know about Murchie and Loizou.

Andrew Davey retires from rugby league with 44 NRL appearances to his name. The hard-working forward earned his debut with the Eels at 28 years of age, after quitting his full-time job as a carpenter in Queensland to pursue his NRL dream.
He also represented the Manly Sea Eagles and Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in the NRL, before returning to Parramatta for his final 12 first grade matches.

Samuel Loizou (#823)

Local junior Samuel Loizou departs the Eels having progressed through the Club’s Elite Pathways Program.
Loizou joined the Eels as a teenager before spending three seasons with the NRL squad and making his first grade debut in 2021.

Josh Hodgson (#828)

Josh Hodgson retires from rugby league following a wonderful, 286-game career across the NRL and Super League. The English hooker appeared for Hull FC, Hull KR, Canberra Raiders and Parramatta Eels at the elite level, played in the 2019 NRL Grand Final, and represented England and Great Britain on 23 occasions.
Hodgson will remain with the Eels following his retirement, as he moves into an Elite Pathways coaching role.

Jack Murchie (#832)

Jack Murchie moves on from the NRL after making 44 first grade appearances for the Canberra Raiders, New Zealand Warriors and Parramatta Eels. He joined the Eels at the beginning of 2023 and made five appearances for the Club.

Technically the Roosters call themselves the Sydney Roosters. Which i assume the Sydney part represents all of the Sydney CBD catchment from Inner west to Bondi & Vaucluse even though as you say not many juniors. Moving on from just being called Eastern Suburbs.

And if you started a comp now a team would probably have to name one of those sides as Sydney to represent the city.

I reckon you would have 6 teams in Sydney and that would be it if you started a comp now

These 6 sides would cover enough region of sydney where everyone would feel like they have a team.

Manly/North Shore
Parramatta
Penrith
Inner West Sydney & CBD/East/South (Souths/Roosters)
Southern part Sydney (Cronulla/Canterbury/St George)
Macarthur Region (Wests Tigers)

Loizou was such a strange signing probably not too strange if you want to look up his junior club..

He never set the world on fire in Juniors played 1 game on the wing had no speed.

Didn't get a look in at all this year.
Think it was payback for the time he bought Jake Arthur a sausage roll and a Gatorade from the Rhinos canteen after a game a few years back...

100% and this is what the NRL should be looking at for their national reserve grade competition..

Well i suppose considering you have 6 home grounds you may as well start building 6 COE's.

After 25 seasons you will have more of them then Premieriships.

Well one premiership in the last 25 years is not a lot but we dont want to look greedy when our little brothers next door havent won any.
