It based on a misinterpretation of versus as the third person singular present form of a verb to verse. It arises spontaneously in children and then recedes.

This is also AFB's second time round requesting a release - not a great track record for finishing contracts.

Not at all mate - I just use the Cambridge, Oxford or Collins dictionaries, none of which give the meaning you have quoted and I sure as shit don't rely on an American Dictionary that categorises it as slang as being accurate.
