Lomax has been released... doesn't seem to be any news on where he's signed yet

Edit: appears to be a release at end of season, not immediate

Zac Lomax has been given permission to leave St George-Illawarra.
The Dragons have confirmed that their highest-paid player can negotiate with rival clubs, allowing him to exit at the end of this season.

Lomax still has two years remaining on his contract, which under NRL rules doesn’t allow him to negotiate with rival clubs until November 1.

However, the Dragons have opted to give permission to the disgruntled outside back to begin speaking with rival clubs with immediate effect and in order to give him time to find a club for the 2025 season.

In return, the Dragons will also use the remainder of the season to find a big-money replacement.

The Eels have made no secret of their interest in securing the $800,000 local junior.

If we grab him it will be our biggest signing since Jennings. Probably best to lengthen the deal and make it an even $700k per season. I reckon there is a chance that Penisini could go to Union and for that reason he is the best option plus his preferred position is right centre.

No chance I’d be entertain the idea of moving Gutherson from fullback. He is still our second best player.

No chance will is leaving. Maybe he can shift to the right though if we got Lomax..
