EELS NEED NEW MAJOR SPONSOR

The struggling Parramatta Eels are on the lookout for a new major sponsor for 2025.

Prominent Sydney developer Andrew Hrsto and his company Aland have been the Eels’ front-of-jersey sponsor for almost 10 years.

The company will remain as a partner in a reduced role on the back of the jersey.

We put it to Parramatta chief executive Jim Sarantinos that billionaire Hrsto was disappointed about the team’s poor start to the season after missing the finals last year.

“Andrew is passionate about the club and has provided great support over a long period of time,” Sarantinos said.

“Obviously we want everyone at the club to be happy. With members, fans and sponsors that’s not the case all the time.

“A couple of losses can amplify things.

“We get that.”

I dont have a dog in the fight and genuinely dont care. Sponsors come and go all the time and I am amazed the Tigers still have any after recent years.......but I cant understand the CEO admitting that the sponsor left because you guys arent going as well as possible. "A couple of losses can amplify things"? Wouldnt you say something like, "companies reassess their marketing spend regularly and we thank Aland for many years of support and look forward to continuing as a minor sponsor. in the meantime this creates an opportunity for new partnerships <insert marketing speak here>. Cant believe a CEO would say "yeah we are going shit at the moment "We get that".

Love to see a major car company or a electronics company be our major sponsor. Great job with having ALAND all these years but we need to go BIG...unveil the new major sponsor, with a couple of big name signings and possibly a new coach...I don't want to sack BA but I just don't think he can deliver us a premiership...

You have to wonder what the attraction is for Sanders and Canberra, and vice-versa for Canberra and Sanders, given Fogarty would still probably have 2 to 3 seasons ahead of him. Strange would also be ahead of him in the pecking order.

I understand his reasons not to stay at Parra, his path is pretty blocked, but surely there are more attractive options for him.

Yeah I doubt the Raiders really need him now.

As Barrett said in the interview recently they want him to be a 10 year first grader.

Do you chase an NRL spot at a club that is going terrible and it is detrimental to your career or do you stay out the Eels or go to a club like the Panthers be a backup develop and get a NRL spot once you are ready..

The only thing must be Ricky has promised him a spot in FG before Strange came along.

As we know Ricky is a man of word.

He'd be similarly blocked at a lot of clubs. And of the others, they probably want someone to play FG very soon.

Watching Lomax for Dragons. I’m convinced he’s coming here as a fullback. He’s too good for centre.
But isn’t that exactly what we need, a top notch centre? Let’s not let last night fool us. We have lost matches over the last 2 years because of the lack of quality in 2,3,4 & 5.
I keep reading Gutho is past it, he’s too old etc. I call crap. If Lomax puts together a full season where he is on every game, hates losing, plays his absolute guts out, saves more tries than he scores and is the heart and soul of the team, let’s talk about Lomax replacing Gutho then.

The only club I can see with an opening for a 7 in 2025 is the Cowboys if they don't re-sign Townsend. Having said that, I don't really know what else they have as future 7s either at the Cowboys, so that is purely just on the surface taking a guess.

Outside of that, he's at least two seasons more away from an NRL start.
