He would be the best fit but in this salary cap world I would take Tyrone Roberts at half the price and gain a goalkicker in the process.
I'll admit I didn't see too much of him last year but he was garbage when he played for Newcastle. Maybe it was the shit around him, but maybe last season was also an aberration

If any player needs a change of clubs to reinvigorate his career it's Pearce.

Absolutely. Hard to see how the $$ would work out, unless he gets amorous again....but even then most other clubs have the same capacity to pay him. I think the Roosters will be pretty keen to keep him.

I don't think BA will take him because he is a poor defender. On the other hand Pearce is possibly the best defensive half in the Comp. He is also a specialist right side half which is what we need. I think if we can get him for anything under $900k per season will seem minor when the cap goes up.

I remember when he was suspended it was reported that he was on $750k. There is no way he will get more if he re-signs with the Roosters not after him derailing their season. If we offered about what Norman is on we could be with a chance.

Yeh, I dunno. If he continues to behave, and if the Roosters don't have their eye on someone else, they may well chase the $$$ they've already sunk in him. They are probably feeling some heat for letting Maloney go. And all the other clubs (notionally) have the same future cap as us. But things move pretty quickly in this game I guess.

Interestingly the rumour is Moses agreed to terms with them before changing his mind. And this was after they had already signed Keary. So maybe Pearce is on the outer.

I was thinking about this the other day. You could be right. But I will be surprised if Pearce does go. I'd take him though.

Of all the names spoken of in the halves there is not a guy you could buy that guarantees successs. More than ever, it's those surrounding them that drives their potential. In this day, half wise, ass is worth more than class in external recruitment.

They have watson and Kodi Nikorima who are both talented and cheaper the Pierce.

Ryan Matterson is an interesting player. Just seems to be in right spot and the right time. I reckon the coach likes him and will make some odd role for him.He hasnt the skills of a half and lacks the power of a backrower and not the foot works or speed of a back but theres something about him. He is one of those guys in an odd spot. I will take great interest in how the coach uses him.

He was described as a back rower in the Roosters' official re-signing announcement.

I was disappointed when we let Matterson go. I believed he'd make a good back rower and mentioned it a number of times on here. He doesn't have the game for the halves at a senior level. He's already played City v Country and became a regular in the Roosters pack last year.

Well, he was a regular off the bench at the end of the season. He was already playing at 13 for Wenty at times wasn't he?

No he played the entire 2015 season at 6 for Wenty. He missed the beginning of last season for the Roosters with injury but came pretty much strait into their NRL side and played 15 games, starting 7 or 8 of them. And also played a strong game in the City v Country clash.
