Everyone carves our defence to pieces.Because he’s fast, and because fast hookers carve our defence to pieces, Eels-supporting merkins think they’re the key to winning games.

so we have 4 players now on over $1m a season
Moses
Paulo
Gutho

Thats 50% of our cap taken up on 5 players.
No wonder we struggle for quality depth because we can only afford bog average back ups
Not that it’s a definitive indicator, but Mann played first grade (eight games) for Melbourne in the year he turned 21 whereas Smith can’t even get a run in a wooden spoon contender. It makes sense Smith is bigger, he's 2 years older than Arthur. I reckon they could work well together. If Smith can put on a bit more weight with what I assume will be full time training next year he would be a good utility being able to play hooker, half and lock. Could be to us what Kurt Mann has been for the bulldogs.
Nah we let go of Mahoney and Papali’i because we thought Hodgson and Momoisea would be just as good ffsHowever, if there was indeed an imbalance in the roster, it could be argued that Moses’ own consternation over his recent contract negotiations, and the hefty $1.3-$1.4 million a season he is being paid for the next few years created its own list of issues that contributed to the situation the Eels now find themselves trying to add depth to a top-heavy roster.
I was told we just lowball merkins with all our accountantsThat can’t be right. We don’t pay overs.
Doubt it.Most clubs would have multiple players on these sort of deals.
It's pure parra LU fantasy that good players are going to play for unders.
Especially right when the Dolphins came into the compMost clubs would have multiple players on these sort of deals.

I f**king hope the dumb merkin didMoses’ fiery post-match tirade was heard by many, including the club’s general manager of football, Mark O’Neill, who walked in during the outburst.
I wonder when MON walked in did he feel like he was being attacked by Danny Williams again.
Same Gronk. Don’t believe that number for a second. $1-1.1m perhaps?
Doubt it.
Roosters - Teddy the only one on a mill or over. Manu is only on around $600k. Smith $750k. Crichton just re-signed for $800k but was on less
Storm - Munster on $1m. Hughes is on around $800k. That’s it
Panthers - Cleary over $1m, that’s it. Jerome is on $700k, Edwards the same

This article does point to the tension between players under a salary cap though. Everyone wants to be the only merkin on overs in a strong squad where the other 29 players are paid no more than they’re worth. Try juggling that bullshit when you have a core of senior players who want their final payday.
I’d believe $1.2M for Moses. He’s our most important player and it’s only 10% of the salary cap.Same Gronk. Don’t believe that number for a second. $1-1.1m perhaps?
By ‘we’ I mean people who understand cause and effect.Who is we?! You and the idiots still employed at this club!
I think you will find only Moses out of those 4 is on $1m.so we have 4 players now on over $1m a season
