Which is a fair point, but look at the quality of the last 2 sides Bellamy and Robinson coached to GF wins.....

The storm 17 players from the 2020 GF have played 105 origin games.

The roosters 17 players from 2019 GF, have played 101 games.

From our 2022 GF, panthers have 80 origins games. We have a massive 26 games.

For comparison with other losing sides, South's in 2021 have 62 games and raiders from 2019 have 35, but that had a few English players.

It's pretty clear comparison of the quality of sides Bellamy, Robinson, Cleary had compared to what BA had. Even compared to other losers.

BA did pretty good with the squad he had.
BA was unlucky in 2017 & 2021. I'll give him that with a bit of luck with referee decisions we beat Melbourne in 17 and Penrith in the semi final in 21. We could have made 3 preliminary finals under him.

But the rest of the losses well we rocked up unprepared when we got beat in finals.

2019 semi final in Melbourne was a flogging like I wasn't expecting a win but a bit of fight and at least making them earn it like 2017 was the bare minimum.

We rolled over the game was done after 10 mins just like GF day. It was embarrassing.

You can point to the quality of the sides we played but we weren't mentally prepared to fight and scrap for 80 mins.

Come finals time if you get beat by 20 something has gone wrong in the prep there isn't that big a discrepancy between the sides to have margins like that in finals.

Ricky Stuart’s finals record at Easts is insane. Was it the coach or the club?

It’s much harder to win finals at Parramatta. Stuart couldn’t even win six games in his only season here.
Tbf Ricky lost 2 winnable GFs the Roosters went in favourites in

If anyone should have won a 3peat it was the Roosters 2002-2004.

They underachieved winning 1 premiership in that 3 year period.

Then Ricky got full control after Freddy retired and Gus left then took them down to 14th and got punted in 2006 within 2 years after 3 GFs.

That's when the salary cap was actually doing its job.

Well, I thought it was all agreed on here, our pathways have been poor and hasn't provided much, while MON is poor at his job.....so it's not like we have an elite teamputting a squad together,.......as opposed to storm, roosters.......there are limitations.......

there is only so much a coach can do to get the side they want.....and he has to take what he can. I am sure he wished his CEO could have got Cronk back in 2017, when there were rumours we were interested...,plus a host of other players......or our pathways recruited the best country players.....

Just look at the origin experienced spread across the top sides....I bet BA wouId have happily swapped a players if it was that easy....

Anyhow have a listen to Gus's podcast, he will give you an idea of the effort that goes into getting a competitive squad together, that complies with the cap....it aren't easy....definitely not a job for a coach to do on the side.....did BA ever have that assistance...,

If we didn't have cap issues in 2016, wouIdnt that mean we wouId have made the finals 6 times from 7 years (we wouId have made it in 2016,)......and that's after not making the finals in the previous 5 years before he was...

pre BA
2011, 14th
2012, spoon
2013, spoon

while BA wouId have gone:

2014, miss 8
2015, miss 8
2016, finals
2017, finals, top 4
2018, miss 8
2019, finals
2020, finals, top 4
2021, finals
2022, finals, top 4, GF
2023, miss 8
2024, sacked

Are you saying that's a poor record?

Gee the hate for BA is crazy. Fair enough he didn't take us to the holy grail, fair enough it was time for change, but gee his era was more successful then some are willing to give credit for! The years before him was horrible.
Your happy with near enough…..that’s the problem with Parra fans, apparently the above is something to crow about, I see it much differently, the one that counts never eventuated, and never looked like happening, anyway u b u and if that pleases u that all that matters

Where did I say I was happy with our performance?

It's been 2 shit, disappointing years! I am all on the Ryles express......but that doesn't mean, I need to agree that BA did a shit job and can't coach.....

Great poem.
You're a natural
I love a spoon butted tiger
Wedged tight between the tail
With a rookie imposter coaching
Another year of fails

The Ute and man called ice
Abandoning their posts
An average age of 17
Last but crap and boast

But thee eels now dead and flaccid
Mitch wants out as well
Lomax signed with invisible ink
Haynesy innocent like Pell

King Gutho now a servant
RCG is gooone
A team once were in the finals
Now look lost and f**ked, forlorn.

Spoonbowl is now upon us
And us fans not quite enthralled
Because whoever wins or loses
We will all end up appalled.

But the take home is quite simple
We will get a game between great clubs
And the NRL can f**k themselves
With their footy finals porn hub

If BA wasn't getting the help or team why stay?

His legacy is finishing last in the year he was sacked with the team being absolutely ripped apart.

He had a good run didn't win a competition which is the only metric when you are a club for 11 seasons. Will do ok in the UK

Because I dare say, it's because of what he always said, coaching the eels was his dream role.....

Anyhow, I suspect he is a lot more highly rated in league circles then on here, and will eventually have another NRL gig.....

Anyhow bring on the Ryles era.......

I think he can coach, not to the standard of others, but I’m sure u are just as frustrated as others, considering we kept on making the same mistakes over and over, rinse and repeat, he had run out of ideas and had his favourites which he kept on picking whether in form or not, that boarders unethical and just plain dumb, the players talked the big talk but never followed through for him, the aren’t without blame as well, c what happens next year, but I am sick of that quote….next year

TBF Pamfers, Eels and Tigers should have the best pathways year in and year out but only pamfers seem to be capitalising on them.

Having said that Tigers made the decision 2 years ago to go all in on their juniors and last week had 3/4 of their spine a the end 19yo in a winning team. With Tigers throwing Galvin, TDS, Mason, Fainu and Fainu into their NRL squad (yes the Fainus werent Tigers juniors) so young and early, Im not sure if it is junior development or utilitising the scarce resources they have. Tigers can make big statements about junior development but when your HM squad goes through undefeated its a pretty safe bet 2 years later and Im not sure that is through good management.

TLDR.....Tigers, Eels & Pamfers should be the best at developing juniors. Only one is.
