Dont actually understand that, he is a much better defender than Moses already and he is 19.
I’d put him in the same basket as Talagi. Would have a great highlights real after this year, but made a lot of defensive mistakes and takes the wrong option with the ball a lot as well.
Still really young obviously and would still be playing reserve grade at a stronger club. Will be interesting to see how he goes next year with more expectation on him as the tigers develop a stronger squad. Has a lot of potential

I heard in the press conference that King Guffo is playing with three broken ribs, a broken arm and a leg missing...

So brave....beautiful and brave.....

Don’t forget the bravery he showed to continue playing with a broken neck after your captain crippled him. And to then follow up with the pickpocket try, *and* to stand up to that cat Klemmer after he tried to pick on one of the littlest blokes on the field. An inspiration for us all.

Wouldnt swap him for either of them.
He might end up better than Brown, who is a great player. He will never have Moses' kicking game but he is certainly bigger and stronger.

He will probably be a great player and we might wish he was on our team one day but it's a dumb narrative to say we should've kept him. We have better halves than Galvin right now and have done since he left. We also have better halves than Talagi and Sanders. It sucks that they all came through while we didn't need them but we shouldn't regret letting these merkins go because we have great halves of our own. We've scored more tries than Penrith this year (though they have a game in hand). Our attack is fine. Would Galvin have improved our defence? I doubt it.

Btw I think most of us older heads agree that’s a penalty (or in the not so distant past, a good tackle). I watched it in a pub tonight with four other older heads who said unanimously that’s probably the end of his night.

I don’t agree at all… but that’s what we are looking at. PS - Spoon x 3 xoxo

Could it be maybe when he was in Parra as a 12 year old or whatever that possibly he wasn’t that good?
I mean I don’t trust our talent identification but it doesn’t mean they were wrong at time
What I was told, he was still growing and they selected him in the development squad rather than the Matt’s team and told him that he needed a bit more time to develop physically and wanted to keep him.The rest is history as he wanted to play reps and His manager and Tigers did a deal which is not unusual given even then the number of players to choose from in selecting reps.

looking back, it was a mistake but things have changed since then at junior level as staff and expansion of training squads into North and South increased the eyes on the juniors, certainly improved since since De Gois and Shepard took over 2/3 years ago.

I actually think that this makes sense. Galvin is a weird shape and always has been through juniors. Even now, at the start of this season I looked at him and thought he would get snapped in first grade and would need a couple of years of building up and when he does he is probably a 2RF which is where he played for U18 SoO and (I think) Aus Schoolboys (with Sanders & Latu Fainu in halves).

Took a weird merkin in Benji to look past that and just chuck him in.

I hope Tigers can hold onto him but have the obvious concerns that a better club will take him. Obviously we will need to splash a lot of money on him to keep him but part of me worries that if he does bulk up he is going to end up a 13 instead of 6 because he is so tall. He is a mad long distance runner apparently so maybe he is just a weird build and will hold it all the way through?
