Is there really any benefit for Gutho to leave? Obviously we don't know how he will go in the new role.

what would another club offer him, $700k over 3 years? So approx $2.1m / 3 years

Say he performs in his new role, what is he worth to us? $400k to $500k? Say it's the lower amount (worse case for him), that's $1.75k over 3 years ($950k + $800k).

So the difference is approx $350k over 3 years, not a huge amount. Also got to factor in, he probably can pick up some sponsorship being an eels player, plus the benefits of being a long term eels. Plus the travel from Manly to Parra rather then Wollongong is a shit load easier. Plus the eels role probably prolongs his career as easier on his body....

Really the only risk is injury early in the season without a contract for 2026. Or he fails in role, which is probably unlikely!

You may have answered your dilemma in your post. Just think it over for a few more minutes and I reckon it'll come to you!!

Imagine if he got a K bonus for every time someone gave Bea Arthur’s nuts a squeeze on here??? He’d be on double Cleary.

What, like people who don't even bother talking about the ex-coach because he's gone, and regardless of whether he was good, bad or indifferent it doesn't change our choices going forward? Either he'd certainly get a bigger bonus I'd guess.

Now I know why they keep staring at us at the Royal National Park.

Looks like the conjecture we don’t have the cash to sign decent players is due to the mess in the cap, seems like it may take a full season with more players off contract to solve the issue and provide some room . Players on long, overvalued contracts need to be off the books for Parra to compete in the market.

Frustrating to see clubs with similar of better rosters more active than Parra, a short roster and being unbalanced for 2 years maybe the reason is poor cap structure.

The reason is that BA looked after his underperforming bum boys.
