Is there really any benefit for Gutho to leave? Obviously we don't know how he will go in the new role.

what would another club offer him, $700k over 3 years? So approx $2.1m / 3 years

Say he performs in his new role, what is he worth to us? $400k to $500k? Say it's the lower amount (worse case for him), that's $1.75k over 3 years ($950k + $800k).

So the difference is approx $350k over 3 years, not a huge amount. Also got to factor in, he probably can pick up some sponsorship being an eels player, plus the benefits of being a long term eels. Plus the travel from Manly to Parra rather then Wollongong is a shit load easier. Plus the eels role probably prolongs his career as easier on his body....

Really the only risk is injury early in the season without a contract for 2026. Or he fails in role, which is probably unlikely!
Such a compelling argument. Problem solved!! Can someone forward this to Gutho ASAP??!!

FMD. What a load of garbage...

One would assume Ryles tells MON who he wants and MON determines the price we pay depending on cap space available. If Gutho and Sivo go one would think about $1.5m becomes available which means 3 good players to replace 2. Win win.
It's just nice to read of meeting involving MON and Ryles in the same room. Not sure I read of a meeting with coach, player, agent and HOF in the past 11 years at our club..

There’s a bit of talk that we may have signed Jordan Semrani, a young bulldogs player who can play Centre and back row …played 19 reserve grade games this year, there’s some wraps on him.
The Bulldogs, I believe, won the Flegg competition and have some promising juniors coming through the ranks. Hawkins from South Sydney has also won a couple of titles in the lower grades/reserve grade and has been named Player of the Year in several competitions. It’s great to see the club bringing in proven winners, especially considering we've lost many of our own junior and lower-grade champions.

He clocked some pretty big meterage as a centre in reserves from the looks of things. That is just based on the stats. It looks like he was more effective as a centre. But there could be a heap of reasons for that!

Good to see a talented youngster being brought in.
