I know Tim Simona has f**ked up big time and definitely deserves to be suspended however after reading some of the details, I dont think he deserves a life ban. Maybe 12 months.

He has some serious gambling issues and needs some serious help. And there is no evidence he was part of match fixing!! None at all!!

And while the charity stuff is terrible, it's just stealing (not saying it's right) - plenty of players have done worse.

The whole situation doesnt feel right to me!!

Sharks players only got 3 matches for drug cheating (yes there is more to it then cheating but that's what they pleaded guilty too) and Foran gets 3 f**ken matches when there is so much he has done.

Hope he gets another chance !!

I agree, except I'd probably go for two years. Unfortunately for him Todd has an almost pathological need to talk tough, without thinking about the consequences, and now a guy who probably needs help as much as punishment will pay the price.

Life ban I think, but he cheated. Simona hasn't cheated.

See this:

Why isnt Foran asked to answer questions over this shit? He received $2000k from a bet which included the eels into his account. This stuff is bloody suss!! (Also if it wasn't true surely Foran wound sue)
It's suss alright but I suppose the evidence against Simona is more concrete. And the investigation into the Manly stuff is supposedly ongoing. Still, I wouldn't put it past the NRL to treat a star player more favourably if they can.

like to add, I did ask a few NRL clubs for donations to assist with our fund raising, and the eels did make one of the better donations (along with the Knights who were the best, cowboys and warriors). Interestingly the two clubs which benefit from my son's club never responded.

Simona deserves a lifetime ban.
The game loses all integrity if players are gambling on the outcomes.

It harms the games integrity way more than if someone drink drives or beats someone up. In those instances it is mostly the player who loses integrity. When you are not sure if the outcome of a game you are paying to attend is honest or not, the game the game loses all meaning.

I agree in part. While more serious crimes have been committed by NRL players, many of those crimes don't affect the integrity of the sport. But neither did Simona's. His only appeared to affect its integrity. There's no evidence that he did anything to effect bets he'd made. In fact he lost money betting. And he was doing it for very small amounts. This is clearly not a guy who's been paid thousands by bookies, which is what I believe the harsh rules are in place for, and rightly so.

Tuha>>>>Folau

Tuha is quick and skilful. Folau is a plank.
I like the idea of developing Folau into a middle back rower (lock) has size, is powerful and has skills but does he have the ticker? Too big and slow to be in the backs imo and not mobile enough to defend out wide.

Stealing money that was to go to sick children not only is the lowest act, it makes legitimate fundraising endeavours in the future be questioned as to their legitimacy. The next time I see a NRL jersey being auctioned, I'll second guess if the money is going to the right place, which in turn lowers my chance of making a bid or donation.

I'd ban him for life for this action alone

Problem with that is his defence sucks and he's lazy.

Might work, but someone else can put the effort in IMO

Sorry mate, but I disagree completely. Players know from day 1 that they can't bet on the NRL, let alone on games they are involved in. The whole credibility of the game is in question. If you place a bet on a game you're involved in, or have some other influence on a bet on a game your involved in, that's it.

The charity stuff is truly appalling behaviour, and there are no excuses for that.

What exactly has Foran been found to have done?
