Suaalii has been given an Australian jersey without playing a professional game beforehand.

Does playing at Kings High School really count.

I never saw enough in his game while being a pretty good player to demand such hype & rep jerseys..

I didnt like Madge giving him a NSW jersey either.

He’s no superstar yet, but he is phenomenal for his age. Any NRL outside back as good as Suaalii (and there’s at least a dozen of them) should walk into the Wallabies backline.

Well my brother who is a rah rah Waratahs man, reckons that 100% of Suaalii's contract is being paid by some rich merkin. So a report that Rugby Australia needs him to play NRL for a season is just gutter cheap shot journalism.

From a rah rah POV, they are pretty sick of the daily Telecrap anti Suaalii articles.

I don't think Simmonsons or JAC carries are horrid. They are not barn stroming but they are not weak like Bevans either.

He is 21. Excellent player but was very hyped up. Still probably the best 21yld or younger back in comp.

In the 11 games he finished in 2024 JAC was averaging 150m meanwhile Simonsson was averaging 140m in his 8 games he finished.

The one thing about that backline is no one would be shirking their responsibility in attempting to ruck the ball out. Many times we were let down by Sivo in his slow turn, soft attempts at rucking the ball out and slow play the balls milking a penalty.

No where near it

Inglis won a Clive Churchill medal at 20 years old.

He was already steam rolling blokes at a regular occurrence before the 2007 GF.

Looking back on GI, I would say no. However GI was the prototype for modern backs, so perhaps he was like a man playing against boys at the time. GI was a once in a generation player however

Rugby leather patch toffs who live where you do, don’t read the Telegraph, they turn to the likes of Pirate Pete in the SMH. Don’t think they need to worry that league types will be watching their static hoof and chase game because some random player from the Roosters is playing .

It's not like the bandana clown doesn't do gutter cheap journalism on a weekly basis to cheap shot the greatest game of all in Rugby League to stay relevant.

So true, but it’s like the Volkman interest etc, our Ponnisi actually has to convince them to sign , which hasn’t been that much of a success on players slightly in demand.

Listen to Sports Bizarre by Mick Molly and Titus Oreilly episode recently on the birth of league. Rugby is as f**ked now as it was back then.
