NRL 2025: Parramatta Eels set to work with Mitchell Moses to erase contract clauses
Parramatta are set to work with Mitchell Moses to erase certain clauses from his contract, a move which could see the star halfback play out the remainder of his glittering career at the Eels.
In what would be a major coup, Kangaroos and NSW halfback Mitch Moses is poised to play-out the remainder of his glittering career at
Parramatta.
This masthead has been told that the Eels are planning to work with Moses on erasing contract clauses which allow him to leave after 2027 and 2028.
The clauses remain in his deal right now but preliminary moves to eradicate them have begun.
Moses signed an extension last May to
remain at Parramatta until the end of 2026 — with options in his favour for 2027 and 2028.
Under the current contract structure, Moses could be a free agent after next season.

If the two parties can agree on the get-out stipulation being struck out then Moses would almost certainly push through and finish at Parramatta.
Some at Parramatta would, ideally, seek to have all such clauses eliminated although club officials were reluctant to discuss any details around a player’s contract.
Players at rival clubs have agreed to take out clauses through financial inducement, meaning their contract would have to be re-registered with the NRL.
Parramatta five-eighth Dylan Brown also has contract clauses.
Brown signed an unusual deal at the end of 2022 which keeps him at Parramatta until 2025 with an option to remain at the club until 2031.

Moses has never been happier with his rugby league and Parramatta is delighted with his form and influence at the club.
There is still a chance Moses may elect to retain the clauses and test his market value in coming years. The two parties have time to reach a united decision, given Moses has a long-term deal.
Other NRL clubs are also looking to remove clauses slipped into contracts by player agents.

New Eels coach Jason Ryles hasn’t appointed his 2025 captain with Moses a leading candidate along with Junior Paulo. There is a leadership vacancy gap given Clint Gutherson has joined St George Illawarra.
Moses’ responsibilities at Parramatta will increase this coming season given Gutherson’s departure.
The incumbent Australian and Blues halfback returned to Parramatta in 2017 and played in the Eels’ 2022 grand final.
He once said: “I’ve been an Eels supporter since I was a kid.”
Moses inspired NSW to an epic State of Origin triumph this year before helping propel Australia to a post-season Pacific Championships final victory.
The Eels face a tough opening game next season via an away game to Melbourne. Parramatta are $4 outsiders with the Storm $1.22 favourites, according to TAB.
